I Have never found a watch in my life that I love more than this 341 Egiziano rep homage to the great 1956 classic Panerai Italian Navy diving watch. It is nothing short of a masterpiece. Not on;y that, the thing is F**ing huge! The aesthetics and composition make any other Panerai pale by comparison. DSN sent me two very nice straps, on burgandy and the other black. I chose to use my Mario Paci distressed ammo pouch strao that works rather nicely. I have big hands and an 8" wrist so the watch does not look as large on me as others, but it is still a major attention getting timepiece. Today is a happy day for me. Funny how the simple things in life like a watch can cheer a guy up. :D Here are some quick shots...

Thanks AHW< I'm glad at least one person appreciates it. The Piano, BTW is actually a painting of a Steinway, by an artist, named Thomas Stiltz. He is a realist who paints winr bottles and is pretty well known in the art world. He can be seen on our gallery website at http://www.gdsorrento.com/thomasstiltz

i know there are people who poo poo the DSN version of the 341, bur it is actually more accurate than the 1956 version except for the 8mm smaller size. It is still a huge waych, and at 60mm, eveb though I' a big guy, I dont think would be comfortable with a watch meant
to strap around a deep sea divung bell.

Well, actually, I'd thought that the keys did look kind of two-dimensional, but it seemed impolite to say so. I almost bought a Steinway years and years ago, when I was young and impressionable and honestly believed that it would be a great investment. The fact that I was living in a townhouse did very little to discourage me too. :) But they still always get my attention.

I wish mu photoskills were bettet. I should borrow my sons, I paid for it and it is an expensive toy. It's ok, he is worth it.

Greg my friend, you are most elcome anytime. I was shockesd at how well this watch is made and the feel it has on your wrist. Mine is 8" bu the way, which is not to say someone with smaller wrists cannot get away with it. This is a watch that makes a statement like no other, and as far as K' concerned it id the holy grail of rep watches. DSN workinf with Enzo are to be given the greatest kudos for this achievment. And Greg, when you come out be sue to bring alomg AHW for the learning experience

ahw: This is my ole Steinway. It was originally purchased new in San Francisco in 1902 and still has great sound and tone. A friend of mine owns a shop in North Hollywood and all he does is rebuild Steinways. It's costly but worth it.

Hambone: That's a cool watch although I couldnt imagine wearing a 60 mm. But the build quality looks great. Enjoy it. :D
I also browsed the art site, a lot of cool art work there.

I miss having a piano. I grew up in a house with a Yamaha baby grand upstairs and an old Baldwin upright downstairs. My sister did a scrapbook layout about those two pianos once.

When my parents moved out of the country, my sister had a house while I was still living in a townhouse, so both pianos went to her. And I miss them. Not that I begrudge her having them by any means, and she and her little toddler son are getting way more out of them than I would, but still and all, I feel a sense of nostalgia when I see a beautiful keyboard.

Overheard at the airport:

"Sir, would you please remove the automobile ....er I mean watch ..... before passing thru the metal detector."

It is really a beautiful piece. Is it just me, or is this kind of dressy for a Panerai? I have been wondering if they make a dressy kind of model as I a more of a breitling kind of person.

that is a beautiful watch. i have an 8- 8 1/2 inch wrist but i feel my 6154 (47mm) is probably about as big as i want to wear. i have to say it looks very good on you. if you like it as much as i do my 6154 it is going to make this happy every time you look at it! :D

wear it well!!

Wow, never saw one of these Panerais! The dial is impressive and the whole watch has a very industrial look to it. The strap is perfect for it. Looks great on the wrist!
