The Asian 6497 Manual Wind is well... a manual hand-wind movement [non-chronograph] meanwhile the Asian 7750 is an Automatic chronograph movement. The 6497 is IMO much more reliable than the A7750, however, the A7750 is an excellent movement, I have a few chronographs with the A7750 and all of them work perfectly, no problems at all, I've had them for over 1-2 years now. So it all boils down to whether you'd like a chronograph or not.

So do u think its advisable to buy A7750 rep from reccomeneded dealer from here?

I have heard quite a number of complaints regarding A7750 not reliable..

Um... yes, they're recommended for a reason my friend. ;)

As for the A7750, they are very reliable, the only one I would avoid would be the modified A7750 with the seconds at 6 found in the Rolex Daytona... other than that you're good to go, I've only had good experiences with the A7750.

Nothing wrong with the basic A7750. It's used in hundreds of thousands of gens every year. Both the Liaoning 4041 (faux micrometer reg) and Shanghai 3L (simple reg) are well designed and basicly reliable MVTs. The infamous sec@6 mod is an addon module made else where and should be advoided like the plague.
It is a good idea to have either of these serviced soon after purchase as the factories supply these MVTs dry and rep makers do not bother to lube them before instaling. Even dry the chances are you can get a good life from them (or not) but propperly serviced they should last as long as the real thing (ETA).
Main thing is don't touch the sec@6 with a ten foot barge pole and if you must, have a graphite lube job done and try not to use the chronos.

BTW - I take it manual hand wind means just that.... movement does not wind the watch, you manually need to wind the watch by turning the crown?

I really like the look of this movement, plus I cannot find this watch with a different one installed [dont want the chrono]. I dont know why but hand winding watches seem like taking a step backwards???

They're not a step backwards I don't see why it would be considering the Genuine version of the watch uses the same movement... well, the Asian copy of the Gen movement [ETA 6497], the Asian 6497. As an added note, higher end watch companies like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, etc. Use hand-wind movements; Rolex and Omega do so as well.

Thanks for the advice! :D

I am looking at the 7750 chrono models now because I just cannot live without a date wheel!
