now, who is going to win the masters this year?
Tiger even par at the moment.Campell - 9 @ 16, what a run,
could be a new record.

I guess we will see some great golf over the next days.

With only 4 pga tours wins under his belt I seriously doubt that chad campbell can sustain this kind of pace over 4 days, especially with the world watching. I think this is tiger's tournament to win and he will be right there in the hunt on "moving day."

I'm rooting for Padraig in both threads. :D

I would love to see him make it three majors in a row and somebody give Tiger a little heat on Sunday back 9.

The question is, would he have won two majors in a row (or either major) if tiger was playing last year?

Sure, why not afterall someone other than Tiger won the last three Masters. All three that Tiger played in.

it doesn't seem very likely, given the performance tiger had a couple of weeks ago still just coming back (what was it?, 5 down on sun to win) n how he generally is in majors. if paddy has any chance, this is a good one: he's on a roll and tiger's maybe not got his momentum yet. otherwise, man, tiger's always so tough in majors.

That's true. But he finished tied for 2nd in 2008 and 2007 and was tied for 3rd in 2006. He was in contention to win all 3. No golfer can win every tournament that impossible. But come moving day it is more likely than not that TW will be in contention.

Face facts, TW is the most relevant golfer in the world, thats indisputable. If he losses a tournament, the fact that he lost can sometimes make more headlines than the winner winning; thats how relevant he is. He brings ppl to the tv screen when he plays. One of the tv networks (I dont remember which), said that they lost almost half of their golf viewership when TW was out because of his surgery.

Like I stated in the other thread I cannot bet against Tiger even when I am given the entire rest of the field. Plus I think he is due for another major. But having said that, I feel that Padraig winning his third in a row would be a bigger story than Tiger winning. That's why I'm rooting for him. Whoever wins more than likely will have to beat Tiger in the end.

Everyone and his dog expects Tiger to win this week but the unpredictable sidestories always add unexpected drama, which can be good for the game.

And on a side note, today Gary Player at 73 years old shot a 78 and in a major tournament no less. That is incredible.
