Whatcha think?

600014_2332009125037752.JPG

Not sure if I am going to like it or not. Have never really been a ring kinda guy.

Which finger would you wear it? It would seem to me like the pinky would be the best bet.

Should I wear it on the same side as my watch, or should I go to the other side?

I am waiting on it to be shipped, so I should have it in a week or so. I'll post pics as soon as it gets here.

Anyone else have one? :)

What do I think? The teeth in the bezel are all wrong, the mid-links should be hollow, the face is cluttered, the crown position is...

Please don't take this as criticism, because none is meant at all, but just out of curiosity, if you've never been a ring kind of guy, why did you buy it? Because it just seems like if you didn't wear rings in the first place, this is a pretty flashy, eye-catching way to take the plunge and all.

Having said that, I don't know if there is a ring protocol for men, but I would think that which finger you wear it on is going to depend a whole lot on which finger it fits on. If it fits your pinky, it's probably going to definitely be a pinky ring, because it wouldn't fit any other finger. Might fit some toes though.

One other thing to consider if you don't wear rings: I'll admit that I'm bad about wearing rings, even my wedding ring, because I do so much with my hands. I chose the particular ring I have based on the fact that it has a relatively slim profile, so I don't necessarily feel it all the time, but the one you have looks thick enough that you're going to feel it squeezed between your fingers whenever you're doing something. So if that's the case, you might want to consider keeping it on your nondominant hand so that it's not impeding your work any more than necessary.

I hope that you find that you ARE a ring guy after this. :)

+1. that bling ring is a pretty big change if you don't normally wear rings, especially on the pinky. i've never worn a ring in my life and am trying to picture all of a sudden putting that ring on my pinky... that'd be a huge shift in the look i have, IMO. regardless, hope you like the look n are happy w/ the ring.

more importantly, what kinda movement did you get?

I understand what you guys are saying. I was also not into watches at some point.

You have to start somewhere. I have had my eye on the Rolex style rings for quite some time. They tend to be on the very expensive side, and I happen to come across this one at a reasonable price, so I pulled the trigger.

At worse I will just resell it. It looks much bigger in the pic then it actually is, too. So keep that in mind. (at least I hope.....lol)

Well, I would hope so too, otherwise it would fit around my wrist.

Not a ring guy, myself. I only wear my wedding band.

Don't even get me started on guys wearing bracelets...

One of my stepsons wore a bracelet. Of course, he also had earrings (the big glass spiral ones), eyebrow ring, and was getting random drug testing at our house. His brother had a lip ring (all piercings compliments of mom).

Oh, they wore rings too. Maybe that's the gateway jewelry. It wasn't the watches; neither could keep one on his wrist and running for more than a couple of weeks at a time.

No hate here, Rob. Just not my thing.

If it spins your propeller, that's all that matters!

I'd like to see some pics of the real thing when you get it, though. It's intriguing, if nothing else.

No hate at all.

And I was just teasing. They had the facial piercings and bracelet way before the rings. In fact, I bought the rings for them, but only because they also doubled as bottle openers, which I thought was practical. They were cautioned that they were only for use in opening root beer bottles, but I have no way to confirm that this rule was followed strictly to the letter.

And they would not have worn Rolex anything. So you probably will not turn into a hoodlum. :)

Wow. So...robmpulse, did you get the ring with the matching Rolex eye patch?

(Aren't you glad you posted your question on this forum? Did you get one item of useful information whatsoever?)

yes, i did get one bit of usefull info.....

some things are better kept to yourself!

lol

on a serious note, i am really interested to see how it feels. i did have another pinky ring before. it was given to me by my grandmother before she passed. took a while to get used to it, but after a couple weeks it was like i was wearing nothing at all.

after getting it appraised and finding out just how much it was worth, i no longer wear it. it rests in a very safe place.

been years since then, and i am hoping i will be able to adjust just fine. not looking for something to wear every day, just something to compliment the yachtmaster on special occasions.

:)

yes. any question asked in this forum should be done so carefully, and with a fair amount of apprehension. :p

No jewelry at all or no clothes at all? Because that would be kind of a special ring if it could make you naked.
