I understand why they have those rules about not discussing reps but I think they are really doing themselves a disservice by doing so. It wouldn't really matter if I were to post in that thread to make them see this.
But in the end that is what makes our forum so valuable. Dan, your actions tarnished our quiet little hobby. Haven't I seen your name on TZ and WUS too? People make mistakes and you sound sincere but what do we have to gain by taking no action on your mistake?

yeah, let me be perfectly clear. i hv zero problem w/ hound pulling the plug on dan. it had to be done. but imo it should have been done w/ a knife, surgically, not a hand grenade. why? bcz dan's standing right friggin' next to us and rwi.
i'm sorry, but i don't see this as the same as calling out some scumbag on ebay trying to grift some innocent w/ perhaps no possible way of knowing just how good a rep in a box w/ papers can be. you want that guy to be ousted publicly, as loudly as possible, in the hopes that the consumers may become wise(r) to convincing fakes. dan wasn't trying to swipe cash; he was being a self-admitted idiot. he needed a swift kick in the ass, yes. a PM to him there and/or just flaming his ass here n other REP forums would've, i guarantee you, gotten the message to dan loud n clear. is there any doubt of that when reading the posts here? he could've deleted his post/pics in TRF in the same manner he eventually did, just w/o all the attention called to us. fakebuster was not a roving monitor in TRF, ensuring authenticity on that forum. he joined specifically and solely to stop dan. fine, no problem. just would've preferred w/ a knife, not a grenade...
perhaps hindsight is 20/20, but IMHO this was a rather large neon sign 10 ft. away. just my humble .02

for everyone on the forum who have stuck up form me I am very thankful..to "fakemaster" I am indebted. To all that are calling for my head to roll, I understand. That being said I have been embarassed on trf, rwi and rwg. I am not a member to any other forums...well repgeek but I do not go online there anymore as I feel I get all I need from rwi and rwg. I have been humbled and have learned my lesson. I could have rejoined under a new name or just dropped the forums all together but I feel that this commuity of watch fans has a lot of worth. I only hope that we can move forward and that I can get the chance to grow and learn from the group. I have seen a few people do dumb thing here, give a smart a## comment and bolt. That is not my style I. I think you all diserve more than that. I can promise you all that I have gotten the stupid crap out of my system and I will be an asset to the group.

I remember the very first watch I ordered here at RWI from WBK. I referenced the word "replica" in the paypal, that was my first and last mistake. Luckily no harm came to Stan for that, but we all make mistakes from time to time.

Yep, we hate you for what you did and will never forgive you. But the staring and complaining at details of nano size on our watches has severely damaged our brains so we never remember anything for longer than 2 days. Who are you and you did what did you say? Do you know what time it is?

When people who should know better get fooled, they tend to remember and act on it... just look at Biver's crusade against reps as an example...
RWI has consistently banned those who choose to post their reps in any public place, whether they intend to fool others or not... this action is consistent with our philosophy...

Fair enough. As I said before, I was surprised he was going to get away with it unscathed. He sounds like a reasonable bloke despite it all, so I'm sure he'll understand the decision and learn from it. The admin team just did what it had to do.
