Thanks for sharing! What a hilarious collection of nasty reps. What do these tend to sell for? Did you say they also hold some good ones in the back? Did you get to take a look at them?

Looks like rep heaven to me. Impossible to tell the quality of the pieces by picture alone. Seems like canal reps carry a bad rep to begin with.

i saw some smp's there for around 60$ i think there the same as some offers for 100 the one with the greenish lume,no ar, cant verfify the crystal. there is a lot there i guess if you take time to look around you'l find the good stuff for a good price. try to visit it. I just go there to pig out and feast my eyes on both tourist women and reps LOL, chinese food all around the corner and for dessert little italy is just couple of blocks away.

Impossible?? Have a good look. You can start with the Breits with that see-through tourbillon monstruosity, the faux chrono chiepies, or the nastry fantasy models... You can pick one of those things up in a Chinese market for 30 bucks. And they are still ripping you off. Having said that, I'm sure there are also some reasonable low-end entry level reps in that bunch too, if you look hard enough... But there's indeed a good reason why canal st reps got a bad reputation.

Well I should have said imossible for a noob like me. From their reputation, I was picturing plastic watches or something on that level. These don't look any worse than our $100 21j reps.

And I guess at least you'll get better service on Canal than from Silix!

Canal st is for begginers. Altgough some of the 21J are pretty good. Specially the Rollies and some Omegas. Amazinly the Cartiers and and Corum are exact! and come with Saphire crystals. The Pams are pretty good (only the unitas ones)

But be aware some dealers have the best ones ( The guy on the third kiosk on the left side of the street on Lafayette has ggod ones and Jack, he is by the subways stairs next to Sbarro.

I'm sure Silix is an outstanding dealer but I have no experience with him. But so far, even our trusted dealers have trouble keeping up with noob questions ,unrealistic expectations as far as what u get for the money and how fast. Good service in repland equates to answering a few questions timely and delivering a mediocre product. Not anywhere near what good service means here in America. Returns are a pain so most of the time, if u aren't happy with what u get, then buck it up.
Ever notice the "good" service you get in most Chinese Restaurants??? The Chinese just have a different understanding and expectations when it comes to service.
To make it clear, I'm happy to be able to deal with our dealers and get the product that we do, but it is far from perfect. And I remind myself that we are talking reps here. But yes I would rather buy in person anyday if given the choice. As far as I can see, when it comes to reps (like illegal drugs), demand outweighs supply so service takes a back seat.

My point was toungue in cheek. Silix sells a lot of crap like on Canal street, and is disorganised and downright incompetent.

Hehe, I see. I guess we both made our points as I've only read mostly questionable reviews about Silix as well. But I know some ppl have gotten good service and would buy from him again.
anyways next time I'm in the neighbor, I'll have to check Canal St out. $30 for one of those Cartier sounds like a good deal to me, even if it has tells.

That's funny. I actually got my first rep on Canal almost 15 years ago. It was a POS Gaytona. It lasted about 5 days and cost about $90.
