are nothing replica.

but old pocket watches. Hamilton - Howard - SanGamo - South Bend - Illinois - Waltham.

some of these movements have most incredible decoration and features.

balanced hour wheel - swan neck adjuster - screwed chatons - decorations throughout - adjusted in 6 positions and temperature.

i am very impressed..................

Re: my latest aquired watches

Very nice! Did you acquire them as a lot or separately? I also have a few pocket watches, some of which require an urgent visit to the watchmakers to make them tick again. I never use them of course, but they're oh so magnificent to look at. I also find interesting those transition watches between the pocket format and wrist: basically, pocket watches modified with a wristband around them. By the way, I should post some pics of an old Longines of mine, when I have some time. Apparently it was among the very first wristwatches. An interesting piece, with ceramic dial and simply decorated.

There it is... just look at the details on the movement.... they just don't make it like they used to anymore...

Re: my latest aquired watches

exactly....to make a watch with such a movement, chatons, decorations and features, it would cost

20.000 $.

this particular pocketwatch in the pic, is a Bartens and Rice, this guy bought raw movements from PATEK, JaegerLeCoultre
etc.

the geometry and features all scream PATEK....but the teeth of the ratchet wheel....are straight...and not curved.

anyways...a rare - beautiful piece. i wish it could talk and tell me what it has seen in over 100 years....

Re: my latest aquired watches

H_U that is a nice collection you have there. Beautiful movements in those watches. I noticed you like mostly the dials with the arabic numerals. There is nothing bigger and badder than a pocket watch turned wrist watch. Only thing is none of the size 10 or 12 dials will fit a 6498 movement because the second hand just misses lining up with the hole in the dial and it's very hard finding a vintage pocket watch dial with no seconds. Here is one I put together.
