Richard Mille is my favorite gen manufacture. The past RM reps were to say the least, BAD. I am quite surprised to see the rep makers take another stab at these. Having seen and tried on a gen, the rep still has a ways to go, but it sure has come a long way from where it was! The pics arent to good, but they have peaked my curiosity enough to get one in the near future!

Compared with the "Richaead Milller" type reps they had before, that rep isn't bad at all. Strap looks awful, though. Which is par for the course for reps, but for a watch that I'm sure will be priced at well over $300, you'd think they'd have a passable strap.

Now if they would only do a decent Wyler.

True the strap still looks bad. And unfortunatly due to the build of the watch you may be stuck with it.
These are going for $188 from the cartel. Not to bad.

Given the position of the lug holes, I think the only way you're going to replace that strap is to get a gen (assuming it fits-- always a big if) or get a custom strap from HKTan for around $100 to $150. Sad, really. You know, I don't get how the rep makers can make such excellent reps and get so many details right (at considerable time and expense), and yet they still haven't quite gotten the hang of making a passable leather strap. Or, indeed, even finding a leather strap at all. Most straps I've seen, I'd hesitate to even call them "pleather."

I also like RM watches to the Nth degree...

but these reps, well....to me they feel like a teaser for something bigger and better

but sadly I dont think we'll ever see that "something"

these reps are Ok, but I'll have to wait until someone buys one so i can see a wristshot

and Seanf's right - those straps look like they're made from the inner sole of a $2 sneaker from Century 21

I'm not a RM expert, but I think the case looks good, but the dial is pretty bad. Most of the RM watches I've seen have at least a partial skeleton dial, which will never be repped in our lifetimes.

True seanf. But these are a far cry from the ones a few years ago that used stickers on the dial.
Heres a gen pic:

And the rep:

It looks like the case screws may not be the right color as well. They picked a good model to rep, as the RM005 probably has one of the least complicated dials. Not accurate, but way better then a sticker, plus no one other then us watch wierdos even know who Richard Mille is.

Heres a pic of one of the reps I found online:
