Can't say that I'm into collecting flashlights but I can understand the attraction. The introduction of the LED must be having such a huge impact. I've got a few and maybe the one that impresses me most is the wind-up model that gives off a flood of light for ages with a just a couple of cranks of the handle. It must be having a huge impact in third world countries where distributed electricity is a luxury.

I guess men gravitate to mechanical things that are both functional and can be a pleasure to look at such as watches, guns, knives, cars, motorcycles and flashlights. I have a bicycle that cost more than many people would spend on a car; I could sit and stare at it for hours; it's just a beautiful piece of workmanship. Similar story with my Beretta 687 EELL, the basic model shoots the same but the wood and engraving are just magnets to the eye.

You had me running to buy that 4w Husky LED light at Home Depot, I'm glad I did,, bought 2 of them.. they are the best I have ever owned by far!

Took a pic of my new light and mixed it up with a very limited edition savage strap..

First: What kind of knives are you into. I admit I am a sucker for automatics, especially Microtechs.

Second: I'm looking for another LED flashlight and want one that is extremely bright and rechargeable. I have the Inova T4 and it's great. But it has a very direct beam. Do they make an LED flashlight that has a reflector that makes it act as a floodlight. See, I'm a building inspector. I need a flashing for two purposes: one to light up the high ceiling (usually 30 to 40 feet) of a warehouse, and also a flood light to light up a crawl space under a house.

After seeing your collection I had to ask.

Actually I buy Chinese LED lights from Dealextreme. Have a few 502Bs with 3W Crees and a 1W Uv.

Just got one of the new MC-E lights. It's bright but floody. I'm partial to throwers :(

after endless nights of reading and researching.....finally bought and tested this one myself....a true MUST HAVE for peanuts money

perfect for your needs ! 2 mode ( full power / low power ) it has a QUAD LED emitter, that thing is incredibly bright !

instead of using the expensive CR 123 A batteries.....order some protected 18650 Lithium Ions ( 10 $ for 2 !!! ) 2500 mAh.....no memory effect.

and an intelligent charger - those are the best and cheapest options out there...

trust me, you will not be dissapointed with this light.....blindingly bright .....and perfect combination of throw / spill.

illuminating 40 feet ceilings.....with this one....CHILDSPLAY !

dealextreme ships everything free, and i suggest to upgrade to EMS......

i have a nice little surefire that I use at work.
Its the surefire "backup" A1 4890 i think the model # is. Small and bright as hell and has two brightness settings which is nice because if you are looking at something closeup then you need a dimmer setting.

my clip is bent on mine though. i gotta figure out how it comes off so i can tighten it up.

things are getting craZY.....AND EXPENSIVE.

everybody knows i love tactical flashlights.

so....i bought many SUREFIRE lights....and modded parts....to get the brightest lightsword out there.

in the short version ( without many extenders for extra batteries ) it looks like that :

IMG_0439.jpg

and with the brightest ( custom made ) bulb....and extreme high amp IMR batteries......it sucks many AMPS and produces MUCHO HEAT !

but......thats what you can get: ( with use of aspherical projection lens )
