My Aquaracer finally arrived - pics

A surprise was waiting at home today - the Black Aquaracer that I ordered from the Eden a while back. This is a terrific watch, and one I can't stop looking at. I have wanted one since By-Tor reviewed it, and I am not disappointed at all. I think this is immediately my favorite watch, and not just because it is new.

@Guru -- this has the Asian Valjoux 7750 movement. Hopefully there will be no problems with it.


@By-Tor -- Yes sir - I saw your post and read the review of this watch...or maybe it was the 41mm date only version. Either way I loved it right away. I like the blue color, but already have several watches with blue dials, so black seemed like a good choice.

My wife was wondering if you would stop doing watch reviews. Every time I see one of those pictorials I go out and buy the watch.

I read By-Tor's review yesterday and it's opened me up to Tags. Yours is about as nice as any I've seen lately. However, I have a wish list about a mile long now that gets longer every day.

Hey, it's not cheap for me, either. I have to buy every damn watch I review. And you know... those gen vs. rep reviews are even more expensive. :lol:

I bet....I am really trying hard not to pick up a Discovery 1911 at the moment. I don't know how long my will power will hold out.

Oh you mean this... perfect and elegant. As much as I love the black version the "Panda" does it for me. My #1 choice for the dress duties.

I never even considered anything else than the blue. Black is the best for everyone... even the fans of blue dial who put accuracy over personal preferences. I have never done that. For me... the blue version has always been the only option for the 'Racer (rep or gen). Everyone were aware of the difference when the rep came out... blue is still the most popular model of this rep hands down.

I have bought many blue dial watches although the factories can never replicate them properly. Aquaracer is one of them. SFSO is another... TT blue Sub too. I doubt there has ever been a rep that has an accurate blue dial.

But personal preferences aside... yes, the black one is the best and most accurate version. Has always been. If you like the black over blue (generally)... well, even better. If I didn't own the gen and was going to buy this watch again... I'd go for blue every time.
