Best Daytona rep?

There are rep that will work but none that are as reliable as eta clones, a7750, or 21j.

The problem has always been the seconds dial at the 6 o clock position. The 7750 is modified with extra gears that are not lubed properly to move the seconds from 9 to 6. This makes the daytona a ticking time bomb to fail. I have the newer daytona with skeleton gears to reduce the wear from transferring the seconds dial, but I still feel it's a ticking time bomb.

People say if you service it right when you get it and regularly, don't use the chronograph unless you NEED to then it will serve you long and well. Others say wait until there's a properly jewled movement to move the dial from 9 to 6.

If you get a seconds at 9 daytona, you won't have any of these problems.

This one was sourced by daytona4me, but is also available from all of our trusted dealers.

You can see the dial a little bit better here

It's black PVD. It came like that from the factory. Looks and feels great! It has the prohunter case backing

Is there a Daytona rep with the proper sub-dial spacing?

I know who's got the best Daytona and have had the one and only (so far). (As soon as I get my Mac back, I'll post a review and pictures) IMHO the best rep is.... [drum roll]:

The QZ Fakeytona

I know, I know... half of you now are thinking "that's it, Para's lost it... that guy really ought to have a check-up from the neck up... he's gone maaaaaaaad" But hear me out [or read me out, that is], as part of experimental project, Fakey shared with me, one of his tester [I know, I know.. it's very cool... I'm having tee shirts, hats, polos with "Official Fakey Tester" printed... skirts dig it! ] ... but a digress… Fakey showed me a pair of Daytonas experiments he put together… and listen to this, one of them is a quartz Daytona (I renamed it QZ Fakeytona and Fakey didn’t mind)... just what I was considering. So, The chronos work, the second @6 is not a problem, and it's of course Fakeytized through and through.

You’ll say “quartz is wack… you can see the seconds tick… a definite tell-tell…†but not so fast, buddy boy… the dial @6 is so small, you have to be kissing the back of my hand to be able to tell… and I’m no bishop, so that doesn’t happen… ever (actually, my dog gives it a couple lick every once in a while, but he couldn’t care less about the seconds @6 tell-tell… he’s not into watches… he eats deer poop, must've gone to his head!). So I got a SS QZ Fakeytona, black dial, that looks stunning AND doesn’t need as much care as premature baby AND KEEPS PERFECT TIME (COSC, -4/+6sec per day? Ha! Try -.4/+.6 sec or -.04/+.06 per day suckers!!! :p )

And the price? The price? You all know Fakey's prices... they're like the prices of puppy at the local rescue... it's a donation that doesn't cover 10% of the work Fakey puts into it.

Now you see my point?... The best Daytona... arguably, IMHO, is the QZ Fakeytona!

Cheers!

p.s. IF YOU CAN, HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE VICTORIA FIRES!

Dude you're killing me.

I must say that it was an expriment that ended in failure. I was trying to come up with a way to produce something reliable possibly branded. I had PVDd a Swiss Daytona case and was trying to get this damn Miyota to fit in there. It did not meet my standards so I fell back and installed it in a SS case. I may go back to it one day.

Can someone tell me if this watch is real?

This is the reason I asked the question I did. I can't find a Daytona that matches the picture.

Notice that the side sub-dials are spaced very far apart. The hour markers at the top of the side sub-dials stop in the middle of the top of the sub-dial circle where all gen pictures I can find have the hour markers stopping further to the left or right for the left and right sub-dial, respectively.

Also I don't see any lume (?) markers at 3 and 9.

They say this is a 2008 model. Is that why?

ROFL!

Mate, that´s a canal street rep with disgusting subdial spacing.
It´s something that US$ 30 is still TOO MUCH to ask for... stay away.

...as By-Tor said, don´t walk...RUN.

Read my review about two of my a21j Daytonas here:

For 21j Daytonas, this is how they should look AT LEAST, on a minimum requirement

Read By-Tor´s review on his section too:

Appreciate the replies. I don't even like Daytona's to begin with but that picture rubbed me the wrong way in the auction listing and wanted to ask the experts. I only stumbled onto that auction while looking for a Microtech Daytona (switchblade knife).

I actually did a google image search for "really bad fake daytona" and I couldn't even find a picture to match the one in the auction. So that only brings me to one conclusion...

It's a limited edition. :)
