Can you spot the tell !!!! ?

I know what this card is,
its value and suit.

The card is marked,
I am making a new purchase of a marked deck for my Mentalist routine.

I have never used this brand of marked card.

I would like to know on a scale of 1-10 how easy / time consuming it is for you to figure out the value and suite of the card.

That is what i found. The ace part is easy to find. The arts was a litle bit harder.

I was aiming for a code on the spots. Maybe it would be more efective... or maybe not!

5 to 10 minutes to spot.

yeah, pretty sure it's an Ace, but don't know which suit yet.

I figured telling what it was might have made it easier to spot.
However,
do you think that if you weren't staring at it for a while it would be good to use?

Example I do a magic trick infront of someone..
realistically they will only have that card in sight for
longest amount of time I can think of is 20 seconds.

anyways - I really like the cards their well made, but again not sure how good they are since they are not as subtle as some other cards out there.

i don't see how if anyone who wasn't specifically looking for a buried code would even begin scanning it. and even if they were scanning it, they'd have to have the card fairly motionless and up close for quite a few seconds. it took me 1-2 minutes, looking for something, and looking specifically in the top left and bottom right corners, guessing that's where it would likely be. you give me only a few secs, at a distance, as part of casual trick, no way.

unless you're trying to fool other magicians, who know exactly what they're looking for...

p.s. i always thought it'd be fun to play poker one time w/ my buddies w/ a marked deck. we only play for little money, to keep it light, but there's ALOT of talking smack, and it would be so much fun to just burn them. are those kind of decks easy to find, seventh?
the only problem is, you use it once and let 'em know what you did, they'd never trust your decks again n would probably bring their own ever after... ohwell, it'd still be worth it...

on second thought, it seemed quite a long time, but it probably wasn't more than 20-30 seconds. n even that was because i first started looking over the entire card. then when i thought about where it would likely be (in the corners), i found it right away. so i guess, it depends upon who you're trying to fool. when i looked at it a second time just now after having found it and knowing where to look, it seemed glaringly obvious and not well hidden. perhaps there are more subtle, better hidden ones like you said. go with those...

The prob for me is that I've been doing 'magic' for a long time.
*only very recently in the last 2 years or so.. some what decent magic that makes ppl go "wtf......"*

so when I look at cards.. I see marked decks almost immediately, thus its hard to figure out from a laymans point of view what I would see.
*as you said.. once you see if - you will always see it*

I think that if I was to use these in a routine (along w/ a few other non marked decks)
I could get away with it as long as I didn't let on to the fact that they were marked.

I showed some kids in my last class and only one of em got it (and thats cuz I practice with him on occation, thus he knows about marked cards and mentalist routines)


Also you asked about cheap marked cards you can use for fun.

I was a card Shark in the Nvy during long floats with the wing.

My bud had a deck that was coded that you needed a key to memorize to figure it out.

The tells on this were only a few seconds for me (im out of practice) but yes, you can spot them once you practice


1- Ace
2- the heart.

Hm...I saw those hearts, but I'd sort of assumed that that was what they were supposed to look like. So does that mean that the rest of the deck has spades, clubs, or diamonds there? Because I think that something that big that was different on the back of each card might be more obvious. I'm with R2D4--I'd like to see more cards.

Saw the heart immediately, but I would have needed to see another suit for comparo to notice for sure.

The ace, took about one minute of staring. But thats more than you would expect from someone thats not even thinking about marked cards.
