hello people,
brand new here. I don't know much about watches, but i do know that the prettiest ones are iwc. I really like their old models, white dial, gold case
here you can see what i mean, althoug it is an ebay picture
1.jpg

anyway, since i don't see those around i'm gonna go for something else, and i would like the support of the experts.

so these are the things that i found important
1)i will wear it every day so strength, indurance, stability, accuarcy and easy to use a very important, so that translate in
a)saffier glas (i suppose)
b)automatic mechanism
c)visibility in the dark
d)swimming and diving allowed

2)i like a watch that isn't to big or has to many dials on it. (or if they have that you hardly see them).
the big pilot is okee, but the smaller version of the pilot serie is very oke.
i like the portofino and portugese also but they have no glooming in the dark ? i think?

3)i'm willing to sacrifies a model for another if it is better quality.

so people what do you advice me?
a black or white dial i still don't know, so i will let go this.

4)where can i buy a decent iwc replica. I have seen in the dealer section but i don't understand it very well: can it be that there are people on this forum where you can get good deals? or do i have to buy from stores ? from who or from where should i buy it ?
cause i need something that stays working for the next 20 years. (that the replica hasn't the perfect match isn't that bad, as long as it is quality)

thank you so much, from a starter
greetz, fillemon

My advice would actually be to browse through one of our dealers' website till you see what you like...
When I stumbled on these sites for the first time I spent hours just going through pictures and pictures of watches till I found what I liked. :D
I particulalry like PureTime's website for ease of navigation and user-friendliness.
Here are the dealers: http://replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=104

well rooster133;
i have looked and looked over and over, but nowhere can i find anything like this vintage watch. if somebody knows a rep that comes close to this watch, please tell me.

all i can find today is big bling bling watches, way to big, way to bulky.
thank you
(the only one i want from iwc at this time is the midsize pilot or the pilot mark: none of them have reps)

wel a skeleton is absolutely not what i need
the ingenieur is a bit to flashy

but the portugese, i checked it again and what did i see, the case diameter is not that big.
from the pictures i thougt it was the size of a big pilot, but that's not true. it seems that it is around 40mm, i like it smaller but hey, can't have it all, i'm gonna do some pm to some people who sells these.

thanx you for the post

If you like that, my best advice then is to save up and get a gen. You should be able to find a nice vintage IWC for around $1500. That's the price of only a few reps... But if it's what you have always wanted it'll give you as much satisfaction as 100 reps!!
