Very much enjoying this thread, so much so I've finally picked up my very own BPSD (originally bought in May and apparently has an A2836 on board, need to verify but date flips instantly at midnight) and a gen, lightly used insert is on the way. Hands are slightly green but not really noticeable. Here she is in stock condition:
The bracelet however is pretty much shot, most of the screws are knackered so might as well just pick up a replacement. Just posted a WTB so if any of you guys have a spare BP bracelet knocking about that needs a new home please drop me a PM

My second bpsd has just arrived, the first one used to have a 2824, whilst in this has been fitted a 2836, and yes now date flips instantly at midnight. It looks that the bp2836s have a very thin date font, whilst the 2824 a more gen like fat font.
Also the stock inserts are different. Imho the 2824s have too fat numbers (awful) and the 2836s more gen like numbers, although still fat as the ones installed by rolex after 2002-2003. Now I have a genuine insert I could fit, with a 4 four font, but the bp one is not so bad at all now.

Interesting... Any chance that you could post a pic of the hands on your 2836? Particularly the hour hand, looks like I got a right duffer. The "spokes of the Mercedes logo" (don't know the technical term, sorry!) look really fat on mine compared to other stock hands I've seen, and noticeably fatter than the genuine article.
Anyone know of any decent generic ETA merc hands that will do the job? Or am I going to have to join the hunt for TC hands?? I bloody hope not.

Yes, my hour hand as you see above is a bit too fat. I'm also curious to know if it's possibile to find another set of hands for a 2836 (yes TC hands are impossible to find)

Mines with Adrian now, awaiting the news of its completion. Love the Gen, but prices for a decent condition with box and papers getting crazier by the year. So a franken for around 28% of Gen cost will scratch the itch I think.

Anyone know where I can source a nice gen insert? All the ones i see are crazy expensive.. would be the perfect upgrade to mine
