This is a shot of the master gauge for the diving system on the vessel I am supervising on right now. There are two Seikos and a G-Shok in there. The only difference is their owners are wearing them. The G-Shok is definitely going to blow up on decompression but we will see just how waterproof it is! The Seikos usually hold up great but this is the deepest I have seen in 15 years.

I have had a Seiko Automatic diver past 900 fsw with no problem at all. The only thing one must remember is to unscrew the crown during decompression or the crystal will blow out. I have no qualms at all about taking a Seiko deep. In my opinion they are the best built, real use watches on the market.

@watchbuff. I have never actually seen a case of HPNS in all the time I have been deep diving. I know people that have seen it, but it is rare. One of the ways to avoid it is by pressing the divers at a very slow controlled rate. When pressing deeper than 500 feet, we use a rate of 1 to 3 feet per minute. The other big factor is time at depth. This 1000 foot job will only run about 6 days before de-saturation will begin.
