Differences between new DSSD's apart from mechananism?

Sorry if this has been covered but I see there are now three versions of this watch - ETA, Asian ETA and 21J.

Are these watches EXACTLY the same apart from the mechanism?

If so then i'm going for the 21J. It would only cost $20 to replace the mechanism if anything went wrong. The asian ETA would be almost impossible to replace (believe me i've tried to get one for my BR01-92 nobody will sell you one), and an ETA replacement will be $$$

My 21J watches are all still ticking after donkey's years. Sure, some are a little fast but regulation sorts that out. For $120 or so this seams like a real bargain, compared to the ETA version - but only if they are the same quality case, lume, sapphire etc.

Don´t wait for that, Tommy...

The a21j watches are very different from the AsiaETA clones.
Talking about the Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA, the a21j will be the one with the black non-sense caseback. The crystal is nicely domed, but it is not Sapphire. Lume is green, midlinks are polished, clasp has fuzzy shitty etchings, etc...
They seen to no update a21j models, So it´s basically a V1 DEEPSEA still with differences EVEN from the V1 AsiaETA, very different from the latest V4 AsiaETA clone.

Some things surprisingly can get better in other watches (the a21j GMT2c has a better symmetric engraving on the rehaut than the ETA version) but that´s all, IMO)

Take a look at some dealers pics and you will see what I´m talking about.
...I have never seen an AsiaETA DEEPSEA in the flesh, but I had the opportunity to see the a21j one.

Merry Xmas!

hmmm i was under the impression they were all the same except for the movement. Not all the dealers carry the 21j movement version. I went for the ETA clone because im not convinced that ANY of the factories have access to new ETA movements anymore. Rumor has it that they are all refurbs or movements taken out of other watches etc, if you are actually getting an ETA movement that is.

I agree with Spirit. Pass on the 21J model and go for at least the Asian ETA clone.

Tommy,

Glad I found your post. I feel exactly the same as you. Josh/Andrew claim their DG2813 is the same as the other versions, yet it's half the price. If that really is true, then I don't see why anyone would even consider the other versions.

You can always upgrade to a 4813, or even an ETA if you want.

Does anyone know if the V3's really are the same watch, except for the movement?

Actually, if you look at Trusty's website, you'll see that the 21J version is made using the same swiss case and bracelet as the other two versions (if you believe what you read). So you get all the works (blue lume, brushed bracelet etc). The only difference I can spot is the mechanism and the "synthetic sapphire crystal" on the 21J version.

Has anyone pulled the trigger on this yet? I'm curious and I can feel the itch. The price is VERY right though ;-)

Here's a couple of quick pics from the 21j version from Josh. I ordered this a week before Christmas, and received it a 2 days ago.

Congrats, scififan. It looks great. Can you confirm the lume colour is all blue?

Also, does the date all centre? Cos there were some problems with the date sitting too low in some of the older batches?

Once again, nice watch. Wear it well! :)

As for what you see on the websites, descriptions, pics, etc. That's all assuming that you get the pictured watch sent to you, which is ALWAYS a crapshoot with ALL the dealers, with an exception of a few smaller scale dealers here. Remember that!

Date is centered in mine. Lume is blue, but is very faint. Bezel is a little loose, and wiggles a little, but overall I'm pretty pleased, especially for the price.

I thought the date sits low for both the eta and the clone eta. Did this get resolved? Or are there newer batches with this corrected.
