DSN 228 GMT PICS "FIRENZA"

Thought I would throw up a few pics of the DSN 228 GMT that i received yesterday. 4 days from purchase to delivery......very fast. Watch runs great, no issues at all.

The blue dial on DSN is just AMAZING. I think this watch is high on my list. I have been waiting for 229 which apparently is no longer produced by the maker. *geezzz*

Ya, If someone that has a 229 could comment on the color of their dial It would be appreciated. In earlier threads the color of the DSN dials on the 229 was supposed to be more true to the gen. I don't know if the 229 is a very bad color, or it was supposed to be purple. :lol:
I'm thinking both Firenza's should be the same color on the Gens............but not sure.

The dial colors in the pics are right on to the colors in real life.........on these watches. Not sure how they compare to the gen's. But they are nice to look at. :lol:

Thanks Taka.........I remember threads talking about the DSN being closer than the cartel. But......never saw any pics. So the 229 and the 228 should be the same color dials on the gen?

I would assume so.... Even the PAM082 has the same blue colour

How's the lume anyway? This watch looks really tempting... Seriously, it's so rare to see blue dialed Panerai. They are mostly very limited edition. The crystal looks to be slightly off centre (on the cyclop) but that can be definitely fixed just by reinstalling the crystal. CG pin needs some work and swapping it to T-48 crown should not be a problem at all.

Here are pics of all three. The cartel 229 is way off. Going to use it as an every day beater, and try to find another.
The 082 and the 228 gmt are both DSN'S. But the dials are quite a bit different. :?:

Lume is ok, typical for a DSN watch. The hands are brighter than the numbers. I will get a lume shot this week end and add it.
The cyclops is straight. I took the pictures at a pretty sharp angle to get the color right. The angle lets the sun bring out the color.
Yep, the CG pin needs a little work. And a t-48 would be nice. I need to order one.......really I need to order 4 or 5 T crowns!!!! :lol:

That means it's slightly different than the 089 that I have recently from DSN. This one comes with Superlumed dial too.

I'm pretty sure the 089 dial is quite a bit more grey-ish than the 228. It's on my list along with the 086. I think the 086 is the same color as the 089ti dial color.

Kind of have all the dials in one spot.

Good review Taka!!! Do you think the 086 is supposed to be the same color dial as the 089?

I would say yes, but with different kind of indices and subdial colour. Otherwise, the base anthracite colour is the same.

My 089 is on the way from DSN as we speak, and it is all the fault of your review, Taka! Will need advice on what strap to get for it. Will post pics. Meanwhile, I really like that blue dial. Very cool!
