GOOD WATCHES FOR WOMEN

Okay, now I'm really amused.

I just learned from levelmanroger that he's been thinking I'm a man--a chatty gay one at that. While I have no objection to chatty gay men, in general, I just don't happen to be one. So if you're good enough to send me watch choices, I'd prefer the daintier choices! :)

I've been called a lot of things in my life, but a drag queen hadn't been one of them before. :)

Of course... I could be the drag queen here - you never know??

Yep - I thought you were a dude. A misconception from the beginning because there just aren't women on these forums. And, in my defense, you never really said one way or another. You did mention you were small like Nancy, but I thought you meant small in an "Asian men are much smaller than American men" way - not that you were literally AS small as Nancy.

With that said, I'd better go check my wife a little closer. It actually could explain a lot!!

No offense intended, and I hope none taken AHW.

Oh, heavens, of course, I'm not offended. It just really tickled me. I've never been mistaken for a man before. And in some ways, I consider it a good thing, because I would prefer not to be seen as, well, flaky and frivolous. Not that women should be seen that way, but some of them are, and I wouldn't want to be one of them. I don't belch much, I don't drink beer, and I'm not a big fan of using the remote control just to surf up and down the channels, but I CAN scratch with the best of them. In fact, all of the girls in my family have eczema. My little little sister (not Nancy) is the champion scratcher of them all.

It occurs to me that it's only a matter of time before someone boots this thread into an off-topic discussion, which would be quite right.

Anyway, I might be the only chick on this forum, but I'm not afraid of you all. Bring it on, boys. :)

fact, beer helps relieve eczema. i was looking for a wife for my watch or a watch for my wife (too much scotch) and skipped to the end of this thread. lmao. the nancy references. the chatty male references. classic.

As it turns out, I'm one of those Asians missing the enzyme to metabolize alcohol, so you're right in a way, that beer would help to relieve the itching, but mostly because I'd be upchucking my socks and wouldn't care as much anymore. I'll stick to a humidifier. But if you like, I'll fill it with beer. :)

I hope this is helping you find your watch for your wife. It probably won't help you to know that I've been on an exhaustive search for both my sister's watch and my own watch, and now that I'm learning to be a watch snob, thanks to this forum, I'm realizing that they're not kidding about the limited selection. Some of the prettiest watches are men's watches too.

It didn't occur to me to ask this before, but those of you in the know, is the reason that the women's watches are all quartz because the mechanism for the nicer watches would make the woman's watch prohibitively large?

Hey ahw676 -

I've been on a quest for a good woman's watch for The Wifeâ„¢ ever since i picked up this piece of S**T from a scammer site, before I found the board - this watch is a wreck - broke within 2 weeks -

The Wifeâ„¢ loves Breitlings, but i can't find any that don't suck. It's my Holy Grail to find a decent watch she likes!

Good luck on your Breitling search. I fell in love with the Breitlings when I started browsing all those watch sites, but the ladies Breitlings are either less pretty than the men's Breitlings, or darned bit for ladies watches. But if you find the one, let me know, because I want one too.

By the way, I just saw the James Bond movie this morning. I can safely say that it's the first time that I've ever seen James Bond breaking into someone's apartment and suddenly I was focused on trying to see his watch. It's the only scene where it showed up prominently, although I got glimpses of it through the rest of the movie. It really IS a kind of big watch. Even Bond can barely pull it off. Meanwhile, I didn't notice great watches on any of the villains. I guess if you're a bad guy, you don't have to know what time it is.

I also realized today that there will never be a Chinese James Bond, because no Chinese person will go around killing all those people in their fancy tuxes and jewelry and not stop to go through and see if there's anything worth salvaging off the body before going off to kill the next one. In the movie this morning Bond drops a body into a dumpster (I won't say whose, lest I spoil the movie for someone else), pulls out the guy's wallet, snags the cash, and flips the wallet back into the dumpster without even seeing what else was in it, and i sat up straight and thought, "hey, wait! You might be leaving good stuff behind!"

I will admit that that Bond watch must be something else--survived car chases, being shot at, boat chases, falling out of an airplane, multiple fist fights, and a flaming inferno. I guess this is what the sapphire crystal is for?

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm guessing it's an Omega Seamaster. An upgraded model from the one used in many previous models. It's black now (used to be blue), but still basically the same watch. Bond has been an Omega guy for many years now, after an appearant falling-out with Rolex.
I have the previous Omega SMP like Bond used to wear, and I absolutely love the watch - courtesy of Fakemaster, though I'm pretty sure he got it off a dead body in a dumpster.

Yeah - I definitely want to check out Quantum. Casino Royale was very good - I just re-watched the other night.

I always enjoy the Bourne Idenity watches , and hunting for them on screen. He's a TAG man, that Jason Bourne. :)

Did not actually see anyone sucking on a donkey's butt. I'm not particuarly a James Bond movie fan myself, because I never remember one from the next and as far as I'm concerned, it's two straight hours of motion sickness with some gratuitous sex in the middle so that we know that Bond is still hot. I do appreciate the sense of his always being confident and in control, but I'm sure it's probably just the watch. :)

You could at least have picked out a nice female assassin. We need role models too. :)

Will my first ex-wife suffice??

I don't think killing your spirit or your will to live, counts as an assassin. :D

But remember, we have to keep our priorities straight. What kind of watch was she wearing?? :)

Baume & Mercier from Neiman's. Gen, of course. I think I was still paying it off years after the divorce!

So then I went to look at the Baume and Mercier watches on watcheden because I wanted to see what today's assassins were wearing. But there were only two watches for ladies there and neither fulfilled my criteria (which, as you know, have become extensive).
