Definitely many new reps with "updated" 7750 28.8kbph are still older 21.6kbph ones...it pays to be extra cautious.
I got burned once, the watch was returned and mov't replaced with higher beat one. Finish wise I couldn't tell the difference. If you have a good ear and lot of patience you can check this using a poor-man's method by counting number of beats per 5 second intervals. 6 beats per 5-sec interval means you have a 21.6kbph (kilo beats per hour) mov't, 8 beats per 5-sec interval means you have 28.8kbph one.
It isn't easy, but if you concentrate enough and catch the rhytm you'll be able to tell eventually.
It also helps if you have another watch with 21.6 or 28.8kbph mov't handy, then you simply listen to their beats, with each ear one.
And no, babola hasn't been smoking weeds, this is exactly the method I used to identify 'rogue' 21.6kbph movt sold to me as hi-beat 28.8.
hope this helps a bit,
babola
