Awesome! It confirms I’m not just imagining the fatter lugs on the ARF. Depending on your level of tolerance it may or may not be a problem. I doubt average Joe will be able to see it. I’d probably be more concerned with the date and maybe the dial. Still a great rep no doubt.

I am looking to buy my 2nd rep after a satisfactory Portofino AF.
At first I was looking for a 5 digits sub and leaning towards JF Kermit.
But then I found this thread and was blown away by the quality from last year’ batches. Even the date font looked very good back then.
Half way through reading this thread, I asked my TD if he could source the watch and he confirmed that 2824 version was available.
Now that I have finished reading all of the pages I’m a little bit more reluctant. But, should I?
Obviously datefont are now much more thick but I would change it with gen overlay.
Now on to the questions if you don’t mind.
TigerDragon mentioned that there was a silent update on the case and that it is worse now along with SELs. Could you please elaborate on that?
Gen xtal, I think correct reference should be B25-295-C12-C1, can you confirm? How can I avoid new ones with blue hue? Should I go for prof xtal instead for cheaper cost, no blue hue and similar result?
MrHall has a splendid modded ARF as shown several times in this thread. What does gen crown and tube add to the watch besides being the real thing? Does it wind better?

rep tube feels very "rough" when you screw and unscrew it. i changed just the tube to a gen one on mine and the difference is definitely noticeable. it screws much smoother and feels much higher quality
Yeah the rep tube feels like the threading isn't very smooth. I also find that the force to get the crown to the third position is a bit higher than I'd like.
My only other complaint with this is that sometimes the glide lock action doesn't feel smooth - not sure if this is an issue with the gen.

Its not a "super" rep please stop with this ridiclious terms lol nothing against ARF but did you saw reps 5 years ago? ARF did (i know the new batch is crap) an amazing job on the ceramic insert no noob version comes even close and i had plenty of them but now ARF fucked up the batch with the new case so yeah wait for the next one

I was joking. I think peoples expectatins are unrealistic. I hate that term as well
. The case shape being off is a valid point and is also the reason I didn’t buy it.

If you can join the two makers,
noob v9 3135 first batch with good SELs, add ARF old 1st batch inserts only, ARF hands, add sh3135 instead of sa3135, and ARF clasps...now that would be a really nice rep.
Add gen crystal and possibly gen date-wheel and that would be a super rep status.

I have the first batch of the 2824 version with bulky lugs, ofcourse near a gen you see a slightly difference but compare it with the 3135 case (which they now use on the 2824 for some idiotic reason to save money) you can clearly see that the 3135 case is totally wrong. ARF/JF just through out the shit its like the AP reps which some look good and some look like shit (same batch lol), its ridiclious if you look at the price 478 dollars and then you look at the V6F Omega reps even with a brandnew clone movement they cost 378 dollars + have an amazing quality.

A to the men brother...you and I have been saying this when we saw the quality tank. Somebody had said it once here but they, noob and ARF, are not looking to build the ultimate rep.

Other players are joining the competition though. Maybe they will do a better job. But I will lower my expectations as usual
. It will be interesting to see how the CF sub will look. At least the subs don't cost $700 yet like some of the ROOs that wouldn't even fool one's grandma as someone said haha.
