My final decision: Are the gen Rolexes worth the money?

The rep is about 1/30 the cost of the gen but is 95%+ identical to most people. Of course the workmanship and the QC of the rep sucks.

In the end, each buyer must decide for him/herself whether it is cost effective.

I can accept the concept of buying gen Rolexes at the $5K to $10K range and lots of us in this forum own a few gens to mix with our reps. Although expensive, but at these price range, they're still within the means of quite a few peoople.

It's watches in the range of $100K to $500K and up i.e. Pateks and Vacherons I don't quite comprehend...

I guess, Worth or Not is different for each person.

Enjoy and be thankful with what you have :)

Save the dough and go rep. The reps are so accurate that most would need to have the case backs removed to verify the movement for authenticity. Not worth it in my opinion. As long as it looks close and actually tells time, I'm happy with the rep route. The beauty with reps is that you now have the extra money to buy a bunch of different watches that you've always wanted without dropping $10-20K on gen prices.
