Going to Mexico (riviera maya) on honeymoon in two weeks and wondered if its worth tryinig to buy reps there. I've always seen reps for sale while on holiday but never paid attention to quality untill I recently became interested (if interested means obsessed) with'em.

Also does anyone know if its best to take pounds euros dollars pesos or travellers checks or to just use card?

Thanks anyone.

Russ.

The reps there are garbage... and don't fall for any of that Cuban cigar stuff...

Mexico still loves the dollar...

I bought a Rolex Datejust ( I think) about 8 years ago off a guy in the street in Bahrain. It was about 7 pounds i think and it wouldn't run past 7 O'clock. I was fascinated with the movement and decided to fix it. But with no knowledge and being an aircraft engineer no tools small enough....... that as the end of that.

First of all, congratulations!
I just got back from Cancun (my honeymoon, by the way). I was able to find some reps (see photo), but they were low quality and WAY overpriced. This guy had a fantasy Breitling Bently and wanted $300 for it (I wouldn't have given him more than $50).
The reps from the trusted dealers are definitely the way to go as far as I'm concerned.

fakes here suck ass big time, and are ovepriced the likes of which jandrew would feel ashamed. Enjoy your honeymoon there(i honestly believe this place rivals paris as the number 1 honeymoon destination)

O and money goes in this order: dollar-peso-cc/dc. no euros nor pounds they will look at you funny

No rep buying in Mexico is a good plan. Your new wife may be happy about that, but if you're anything like me, you'll drag her through every gen watch shop in the area (and there are plenty, couldn't find any IWC's though).

Thank goodness my wife knew about my addiction before our wedding.
