for the members who's only exposure to rep forums is RG, they naturally are probably out of the loop since
threads keep getting shut down...

I've asked admin there to address the situation & waiting on that...

Regardless of what is going on...I'm not educated enough on the facts...This I do know...
I'm impressed that the RWI team took a stance based on what they felt was right...Kudos to you...
Just having the balls to get involved and to protect members says a lot about the integrity
of the team...

I always stay out of Dave stuff but damn these inconsistencies. Not that I believe this is true in your case, but a lot of us sign in to forums and hit 'remember me'. Especially if we're here all the time. We don't put in passwords over and over and quite a few forget what they are. Totally reasonable. But when my server crashed and I lost my password at RWG you said it was bullshit. Yet when you say that happened it is supposed to be accepted without question. The road goes both ways.

LegendOfSpeed clarify something for me. I always thought if you ask for a password reset you have to enter the new one which means you would know it. :?: And are you sure about that suspension? The reason I ask is because Dave says he never lies. But I heard that when it was mentioned that he had been suspended over here, he said that he was not and that he was choosing not to come over here.

well if they (RG) keep deleteing everything without explanation they will piss off a LOT of their members. Anytime you delete any thread you are asking for a whirlwind of s**t, let alone constantly deleteing threads on a subject that everyone wants answers too...

Don't RG realise that ignoring the issue will have a negative effect? It's maddness to ignore a problem and just sit and hope no one will find out. By not being open about it, as I said, right or wrong, will surely implicate the admins of that site into being in cahoots with those being accused, again wether we are right or wrong in our actions here...just my 0.02 pence (British currency)

Yeah I haven't seen any JandrewGate threads yet. Apparently RG mods are on high alert more than ever for anything possibly negative about their golden boys / cash cows.

This came up at RWG yesterday. Though I tried to explain it the following several pages just kept asking the same thing. This is basically how I explained it over there.

IF RGs business model is dealer driven then naturally they are going to ignore it. Even if they were to discuss it on the forum from the position that they think it's wrong, they WOULD still be discussing it. That means that people would see negative comments about the dealers there. So they just say nothing. Regarding whether shutting down threads looks suspicious, 99% of the membership will never even see them. You have to understand that though there are quite a few people who visit mulitple boards, there are way more who pick one and stay there. And they will never know this happened. SA even said something to that effect.

Many, many RepGeek members do not read the discussions on other forums

even with no evidence at all... if you get the same story from several people, on several different occasions.. and holy hell... the damn thing makes a lot of sense (fits a better business plan for you (the dealer))
and given the fact that these dealers do not even know each other (established on several different occasions during interview process for dealing here)

Being a mod on other unrelated consumer forums I understand the occasional need for censorship. libel, obsenity etc but if any contributor is being untruthful or misleading to members they get their butt kicked...openly.

Now being a bit of tail end charlie to this discussion am I correct in thinking that the dealers Josh & Andrew have demanded the banning of another dealer because that dealer is undercutting them & also that they claim watch mods which in fact have'nt been done simply to inflate their prices??

If so whilst not entirely surprised that this goes on bearing in mind the industry we are involved in I'm a little saddened that a well known site such as RG will not let there be a full & frank exchange of opinions.

If it's true that these dealers have tried to have another dealer banned because of their lower prices that's disgraceful & the dealers attempting this should be banned by all rep sites.... no matter how good their service claims to be.

Being members of the rep fraternity we have no one to protect us but ourselves & if that trust breaks down then we are all in the shit. We can hardly trot of down to our local court screaming rip off can we :roll:

I only joined RG in Feb 2008 & have only bought about about 6 reps comprising 3 mens & 1 ladies Rolex's + 1 mens Lange + 1 mens Breitling Bentley & some interesting (very cheap) gens

All but 1 of my reps was purchased at very reasonable prices from John of UK Watches & I'm more than happy with them. Anyway who are the trusted dealers here & is John or Narrika included??

yes thats exactly it.. threatening other dealers to raise their prices or get cut off from the factories and lies.. water proofing , extra seals and gaskets, and pre-servicing that was never done to ANY watches that went out and the cartel kept blaming thier "watch makers" for missing some watches. I have yet to hear of ANY watch that actually got this $100 treatment done when the customer paid extra for it. absolutely brutal if you ask me.

I'm not familar with John, but if you've had good luck with him, that's good. Narikaa (Reg) is a very good dealer. Ruby and Puretime can both get you pretty much anything that Jandrew could supply. I personally like Silix, as they typically have better prices for many of the same watches. Their information is in the dealers' section on the main page.
