Bought a BeginYachy from Josh last week. It my first rep watch. At that time I had no idea this forum existed and I posted on another forum asking for advice before I bought it. I got one response that was pretty unhelpful. A member from here PMed me telling me his thoughts about the watch (and pointing me over to this forum). My goal was to get into the hobby with a decent, well made, reliable watch for a pretty good price. Can some one give me their opinion on this watch and if I made a good choice. Thanks

Yes your avatar is hot...

Oh wait that wasn't your question, the the beginer Yachtie is a nice watch, and a good entrance. Look at the new skyland, excellent value compared to the recent releases. You wont find josh on this board anymore, but he is good about delivering watches.

Hell with watches. Who is she and have you got more pictures. :D

One of my firsts was the begin Yachty. I haven't worn it but a couple of times. I found it got boring in a hurry.

But, enjoy yours. Everyone has different tastes.

And welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys I will tell my wife she was well received. I was debating wether or not to make the rep leap with a Rolex or a MB. The good MontBlancs just cost so freaking much for my first rep. And I have a feeling I will be here fro a while. LOL SHould I look at getting the movement changed to ETA or will it ever matter for my first watch. Oh and can I wear this thing everyday (with care or course)

This is her from from front for you viewing pleasure

Ah its a pic of your wife!! ok so in that case, I only hate you a little, but its more envy then anything else.

Should be able to wear it everyday - maybe give it a rest once in a while.
I started with the traditional rolex sub, (Asian movement) - easy to replace and for a first, its a great start. I'll tell you I love it so much I almost was to afraid to wear it that much. Best thing I can say is wear it and enjoy it. Something breaks its a good learning experience trying to fix it. And everyone on the fourm is so helpful it shouldn't be an issue. On my list is definitely Yachtie amongst a few others btw.

don't bother changing the movement, should be fine to wear as is. Check the bracelet screws make sure none are loose, spray is with some lube spray (wd40, dry lube, ect), clean with dish soap and hot water and your good to go. Becareful to not get the watch head too wet until you know its waterproof.

I got the beginYachy the day it became available a few months ago... I don't care for the loud rotor on that cheap new 21J they put in all the low end auto reps these days, and losing 40+ seconds per day out of the box annoyed me, but I gave it to my dad and he loves it.

I am very lucky, I do not own any loud watches. Of course I have severe hearing loss. I guess I have found the first good point about being almost deaf. Well, except for the way I can ignore my wife and pretend I don't hear her! :D

I think you made a good choice for your first rep. It shows a little more imagination then what I got (Sub). Have fun and prepare to spend a lot of money on more reps in the future. There are some really good Tags, Omegas, and Breitlings for sale around here.

Oh and here is a little nugget for you. Check out the watches for sale by the senior members. Why?

1. The are already in CONUS which means faster shipping (and no customs worries)
2. They are effectively QC'd (most reps seem to break within the first couple of weeks if they are "bad")
3. You will save a ton of $

Have fun!

The Yachtmaster is an interesting choice for a first rep...it shows that you think outside of the box. I would also recommend that you look at some of the Omegas. I receive quite a few compliments about my Omega Seamaster GMT (with the blue wavy dial). I attribute the attention to the fact that it is not that common where I am from. 8)

I have the BKYM, which was my first Yachtie. I have received many, many compliments - especially from AD's.

Get us some wristshots!
