My mom just started up a small consulting business and has been going to lunch/dinner meetings with some high end biz executives for well known companies.

Now she has the background experience and knowledge to show the people shes sitting down how their company would really benefit from my moms companies help.
But, I also think you need to dress to impress.

She comes home every night telling me how so and so VP or CTO/CEO.. so on.. drove up in a brand new porsche or how they had on a Rolex or what not.

I thought as a good luck gift it would be nice to get her a good looking watch to wear during her meetings (give off that uber professional look).

Any thoughts on what to get her? real or rep.. (pref. rep as money is a little tight for me at the moment)

shes a pretty tiny person - I put my noobmariner on her wrist and it took up the vast majority of it.

CARTIER TANK FRANCAISE. Excellent ladies watch. I have bought one for every lady in my life. Or, if you really want your mother to impress, get her a Patek Philippe 24.

40mm PAM?

It really depends on wrist size though... Some can pull of that 44mm PAM and look very sexy

Ok... Another alternative: a YM with MOP dial, ladies version (small size).

That bamboo is not bad too.

Exotic dancers love to be tipped with Cartier. Spend $100 and they think you spent $3500. Talk about a very good lap-dance!

anyone willing to get a wrist shot of their wife .. or mom .. sister.. up to see?

If there's one thing I've found is a watch in a box looks very different then a watch on a wrist. (at least to me)

and thx for all the suggestions so far keep em coming !!!

I have a feeling this will be a good thank you gift for all the hard work and time she put into raising me.

I do not have a wrist shot available, but I bought a PP 24 for my mother and she loves it. It is very classy, and the retail is still believable for a Patek. They go for about $11K. I bought the one with the single row of diamonds on each side. I think it looks better than the double row version.

always wondered about 'diamonds' in reps. They are good looking in person? - do they stay in most of the time or end up falling out alot?

geez I've really been asking a lot of questions on this forum haha - theres just so much information to gather and understand. Glad everyone here is so patient and helpful!!

My mom has had her 24 for about 9 months and has not lost a stone. The CZs look good to me, and I am very picky. That's why I refuse to buy anything with gold on it. Does not look right. I doubt anyone would ever question them.

It is because Patek Philippe is the most respected brand on earth. If that watch had an automatic movement, it would sell for $25K+

Don't forget about the Genuine Rolex Oysterquartz, Quartz watches @ $3,000+!

And I mean, come on, the Patek 24 is less than $140 that's the price of some fashion brands like Fossil [eww!], in other words it's not expensive, Cartier uses Quartz a lot, also Hublot, Omega, etc. Besides, women seem to prefer quartz over automatics because they're easier to maintain and they're not anal like we are.

So I showed my mom the Patek 24, which i quite like, but she seems to think it might be to big on her wrist.

"I dont think I could wear something that big - I like small round face ones that go with my tiny wrist - very feminine looking - I like gold tone ones. Liz had a nice Rolex one with a small round face in two tones I think i.e.e combination of silver and gold. check out and see what you come up with. TA Mum"

That's what she emailed back to me.

I think however I'll pick up the Patek 24 for the GF, since I do like it alot.

anything that fits my mums description?

I also like the Chanel J12 that was mentioned earlier, but couldn't seem to find a 2 tone version of it. ( are 2 tone colours much more expensive?, she might just have to deal with silver or gold instead of both !! )

again thx for all the help so far !!

The J12 is quite a bit larger (33mm wide and 10mm thick) than the 24 (25mm wide and 6mm thick), but if that is what she wants. Also, the J12 is ceramic. Comes in colors like white, black, pink.
