in the meantime...i was thinking, we all have many watches. the best rep is said to be Andrews or Josh. BUT: asian copy 2824.

i did a lot of reading about this movement, its high beat ( 28800) nicely decorated and proved ( so far ) to be very reliable.

now....Andrews Heritage is $220, i care more about the precise replica, and i trust the asian 2824 to last...when i wear it ...combined with all my other reps...

a few days a week.

to copy a 2824 nowadays with CNC machines....should be nothing difficult....especially when you consider that many so called SWISS 2824

are also refurbished.....Hybrid....or very low grade production movements. ( ETA produced in asia for asian market )

i think i would give Andrews or Josh's Heritage a try. the price is tempting for the best copy.

H_U,

I agree with everything you said. This is a beautiful watch. I could not resist Silix the week he posted it. I am quite satisfied with the Silix version, but would have probably went with Andrew based on price, the slightly more accurate dial, and improved date. But you really have to have the two watches side by side along with the gen to see the minor flaws. Silix does have the Swiss ETA and emphatically stands by that, although plenty of circumstantial evidence does cast a small shadow of doubt. I believe Silix believes he's telling the truth. But with the reliability and robustness of Andrews ETA copy, Andrew's version does have the edge for those purchasing today. I consider Silix and Andrew equally topnotch in customer service. In summary, I think you are making the right decision for today. However, I will continue to wear my Silix version proud. By the way, the dark brown strap looks better in person than the pictures I just posted. This watch is my third favorite to my Orange and Black UPO's. I look forward to seeing your photo's when you receive your Andrew version.

I had the opportunity to see the Silix version at the Houston GTG. I can tell you with out a doubt that it looks great and has a real gen quality feel and look. With that said, I have dealt with Andrew and like his service. I lean toward Andrew largely based on the RWG thread.
