Buying a gen 5711 to replicate would cost the factory nothing surely? As the resale would be higher than purchase?

Or is the watch damaged/ destroyed in some way when replicating?

If we were to judge by the recent OMF 26331 release the factories apprently destroy the donor - just look at the gen dial in the comprison photos But even then, that’s just an investment, isn’t it?

Well exactly. You just take it as a hit.

Pick up a Gen for say $40/60k. Sell perhaps 2000 units (just making up numbers here in terms of demand) @ $400/500 a pop. That's $800k right there. Factor in materials, etc. Surely it's not that much.
