I was looking for a dress watch to wear with suits. It had to be thin and elegant (at least it had to be elegant to me). Andrew had a very nice watch on his site. A Vacheron Constantine Perpetual Calendar in Rose Gold. The fact that it displays Year, Month, day of the week and date as well as having the Moon movement was very interesting. There are four buttons, two that are exposed and two that are recessed to set the different "complications". The Rose Gold looks like light copper, and some folks might not like it. Andrew also has this watch in stainless. I went to Vacheron's Gen site and learned they are the oldest watch company in continuous production, dating back to the 1700's. Vacheron Constantin was purchased by a large consortium within the last decade but continues to offer some beautiful watches.
Andrews' service was great, ordered the watch on Friday, got it in Atlanta on Wednesday with no hassles and got exactly what I ordered. I am going to replace the band with an upgraded brown alligator strap. Here is what it looks like:
Here's the display back, had to use a lot of light to get the shot, and it blurred the photo of the movement, but I think most folks want to see the engraving on the rear when thinking about one of these. It is an outstanding watch and I am very pleased with it:
