It all depends if you want to Franken or not, and if you don't mind the crown turning the opposite way to gen.

If not, I think it's $100 well saved (if you can live without 904 steel that is *rolls eyes*)

Is crown height the same now between the two movements?

Is the "V9" finally THE best sub ootb? Apparently recent releases from ARF and VRF can't match up and does not have such a good feedback like the new V9.

It's if this (marketed as new) "V8" is the same as the V9 apart from the steel . On both sites there is now a new V8 listed

From what I understand, no matter which steel, if the watch has a 3836 movement it is a V8. To be a V9 it must have both 904 steel and a SA3135 movement......I'm getting a headache.

Yeah but is this "new" V8 really a 316 steel V9 ? Arghhhh

Question of the crown height still there either way is the 2836 still lower crown position ?

But to answer your question exactly, a V8 with a SA 3135 movement is the same watch as a V9 but with 316 steel.

According to the man himself (Smoke) the best sub is a V9 from Intime or Chazingtime. All you have to do then is fit an ARF insert and you have a winner (And an ARF sub with a V9 insert to get rid of)

No man, that's incorrect. A V8 has flush SELs and the wrong shape at the tip of the lug. If people want something that looks significantly different from a V7, they need the V9.

I need some advice guys....regarding the LV

Shall I wait for the SA3135 (it's not available yet for the LV) or jump to the A2836?

The other option is to go for the bk version with the ETA 2835-2

Not a TD here, but TS have both movement versions listed on their website together with videos. I haven't had any issues with them and from payment to receipt of a watch (given no QC problems) was max 7 days.
