at around $20K, and with only 99 being made, the DeWitt Academia Chronographe Sequentiel is perhaps not a watch you would expect to
see on a trip to your local Burger King..

the rep has a titanium and Rose Gold (plated) case, and is remarkably accurate..

what an unusually nice 'looker'!

at $468.00, is not cheap.. but then, maybe the gen is not that inexpensive either... $20,000.00

Klink, this watch is on top of my list too! Gotta agree that price is kind of a bummer. What makes it so expensive... I don't know. It's not easy to replicate definitely. I am really on the verge of BUY.

The design is growing on me. Black dial is definitely better than the fruitier red or white options. Windmill seconds are cool.

This looks to be quite similar to what Andrew's selling for $328 unless I am mistaken.
The black dial looks blue on Andrew's site because of the AR it seems.

Could you point out the difference if I have missed it?

The size and presence seem just right.

I haven't missed the irony of "academia". Few Academics could afford this gen without family moolah, or without doing a lot of lucrative consulting on the side. But what a nice present to give someone when they make tenure, eh?

Looking at how intricate the case design is, I can understand why it's expensive, executing 3 separate elements (titanum, gold plated steel, and rubber), is going to be harder and more expensive than just a regular SS case. I don't mind the higher price, as it seems the level of fit and finish is very high on this one.

They have done it in Hublot Big Bang with relatively lower price (rubber, steel, ceramic or rose gold plated bezel) I really hope they are gonna lower it down... at least to sub 400. I can only hope... The price is, but only to put a smile to the people who can afford it.

If memory serves, the original HBB's were very much in line with this price level when they first came out. The Dewitt is probably going to decrease in price eventually too.

It was slightly lower for SS/SS HBB combo, the rose gold plated bezel costing about 20USD more. That being said, it's in the low 400 when it first came out. This rep is still very very tempting, like Klinky said, he can find it at 468USD

sure Klink. Shipping it into Germany wouldn't be so easy... Oh well, I have to gather enough fund to get this piece too. Besides, 8 watches at the moment is too many.
