Great looking watch seraphe.

This wouldn't be the same seraphe that bought my OEM Panerai 27/22 black calf strap would it? If so, I'm shipping it out this morning.

Haha indeed :D I was the one who hounded you for a non-CONUS delivery ;) Thanks, man

@Panama: It's the new Asian 3647 clone, not swiss. Shouldn't be coz I bought Asian... unless it's a surprise bonus from TWP ;)

seraphe -- based on the Novodiac shock system vs. the Incabloc, I would say that is a Swiss movement. Are the spokes of the balance wheel straight or do the flare at the ends? If they are straight, I say Swiss for certain. I still say Swiss just based on the Novodiac shock system. AFAIK, there have been no documented cases of the new Asian movements using anything but the Incabloc movement. vaccum did a review of the Swiss and Asian side by side, his photos show the visual differences between the Novodiac and Incabloc systems.

Hmmmmmmm... :?:

Looks like a Novadiac... The top of the balance regulator is flat, no grooves...

Yep, exactly. That's why I say Swiss. The Asian ones all use the Incabloc system, AFAIK.

hooligan....i appreciate your contris....but i have my thoughts. ok, .....spokes of balance wheel straight ( swiss ) - if they flare....( asian)
in my opinion.....RUMOR ! please look at the pics, and look at the spokes...all are flared out.....so they must be all ASIAN !
everybody, please comment your thoughts and experiences !!

What I think... again, not backed by any proof... is that Swiss 6497 do not, if not seldom, come with the flare spokes. Either there is no spoke, as in the case of my 177h, or straight spokes. The pictures shown by HU are of gen 6497-based OP movements, where Panerai chose to have the flare spokes on the OP movements.

Now why hooligan might think the flare spokes on a Panerai rep would mean it's an Asian movement is because we seldom see a swiss ETA 6497 with the flare spokes.

That's how I understood hooligan.

I am not a pam lover, but that watch is just beautiful.
Simple & clean... and extremely close to a gen...

Nice... I am drooling...

The mov't ticking in Seraphe's 177 is Swiss ETA 6497-1.

HU, flared balance wheel spokes come on both genuine PAM (Soprod) 6497-2 movt's as well as all Asian rep 6497-1/-2 mov'ts, and Swiss-Asian hybrids.

The one in Seraphe's watch is Swiss ETA with non-modded original stock ETA factory balance wheel and anti-shock assembly, that's all really. :)

cheers,
babola

Yeah, I was excluding gen 6497-2s from that statement, h_u. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

Back to the original point, that movement in seraphe's watch is Swiss.
