On a fight the other morning from Knoxville to Houston i was siiting across from a gent with a Plat-Y-Master. At a Glance, i could not tell if his was Gen or not. I was wearing my MBW same-same. He looked over at mine and said - nice watch and pointed towards his - i said, ya cool watch too you too. He held his out as to say hold yours out in a sign of unity ...uh, soooo, I threw mine out and it looked same-same...I really think these Reps we have are really outstanding or this gent was wearing a MBW also.

Anyone have this same type of experience?

most people that own the real deal are not very well trained to spot the differences unless they are real obvious. the average guy wearing a rolex (or other brands for that matter) isnt into the watches the way we are. i have a few friends that own several rolex watches and they cant spot a rep unless its a bad one, and these guys consider themselves watch aficianados. on the same note, some of these reps are incredible!

I actually exchanged watches with a salesman from my company for mutual admiration purposes. He had an older no-date sub and I was wearing my blue TT sub from George. When we were handing them back to each other he held onto mine as if to say, "I want yours!" It never crossed his mind that it was a rep. If it did, he hid it very well.

I agree, I was same way - I have a few Gen Rolex's and did not understand what I do now. The MBW I have, except for lume, is great.

really you learn the most of the little details on rep sites. with a gen from an AD you dont question, so in that world its pretty normal to not know the small details that we know and look for.
