Bezel insert replacement on Josh's beginmariner

Greetings everyone.

I picked up a beginmariner from Josh a couple of months ago. I really like the watch, comfortable bracelet and nice smooth 28.8 movement. The bezel insert was ok, but it fell off a couple of times and I lost the pearl. Based on researching posts here, I picked up a replacement bezel from one of the recommended sources. My understanding is that shoe glue is the recommended way to attach the replacement insert, not super glue. What is the safe way to pop off the old bezel insert? Any tips to not make a mess with this shoe goo stuff? hxxp://www.eclecticproducts.com/shoegoo.htm Did I pick up the right glue?

Thanks for any tips or advice

this glue should do it.
since you have a new insert to put in, you don't have to worry about ruining the existing, any method will do, e.g. pry through the pearl hole, pry between the crystal and insert, etc.
you most likely need to mill the back of the new insert to fit it in, just make sure it's even and get a slight recessed fit before applying glue 'cause removing the insert is not gonna be easy when you don't want to damage it.

How to do it

Time to wake this thread up from the dead!

Finally got around to doing this today.

First pic - prying off the old bezel - the pearl was already gone so I attacked it there.

Milling the bezel insert to fit

Bezel insert was a bit tall and a bit too large in outside diameter, so I milled it down using some sandpaper. It fit fine around the crystal so I didn't have to do any milling there.

Gluing in the new insert

As recommended here on the forum, some shoe goo glue. I chose to apply with a toothpick to minimize the mess

The finished product

Before a final polish and putting the bracelet back on. A better looking bezel, in my opinion, with a better looking pearl.

Enjoy!
