Rubber Strap

So I am looking to get a gen Panerai Rubber strap for my 001b that I will be getting shortly.

I am was checking some threads out at paneristi and I am not sure I understand the difference between a "new style" rubber strap or the "regular" one. Can someone clear this up for me please?

Also I will have no problems getting the gen rubber to fit the rep correct? And lastly, the rep has 24mm lugs right?

The "New Style" is the one offered in many submersible PAMs. The "Regular" is the one with the "Officine Panerai" throughout the strap.

As far as I know, these are the different rubber straps in the rep and gen world.

The gens:

24/22 Original style rubber for tang buckle with rounded loose keeper

24/22 Second generation rubber for tang buckle with squared off loose keeper

24/22 Original style rubber for deployant buckle with loose keeper

24/22 Second generation rubber for deployant with semi-fixed keeper

26/22 New style diving rubber typically on the 47mm submersible watches (this may now be available in a gen in the 24/22mm size)


The reps:

24/22 Original style rubber for tang buckle with rounded loose keeper - some okay some not

24/22 Original style rubber for deployant buckle with loose keeper

24/22 Second generation rubber for deployant with squared off keeper

24/22 Panerai Ultimate rubber for deployant with semi-fixed squared off keeper - excellent quality

26/22 New style rubber typically on the 47mm submersible reps

24/22 New style rubber typically on the 47mm submersible reps now available on some 44mm reps

what would be the size needed for ruby's SFSO and where could i get a good price on a gen rubber strap for it.... 8)

Maxse while old rep Panerai rubber straps were only useful for collecting fluff. Recent ultimate rep straps like on TWP ultimate Arktos have been really good and would be worth considering. Mine even smells of vanilla like the gen.

Really? I remember reading that the gen is quite better but I have to admit those posts were not current.

Isn't one of the obvious flaws that the rep has a leather keeper while the gen is all rubber? Or has this been fixed in the latest version?
