if there is ....I'm not sure it would be worth the cost  Especially with gold going for over $600 an oz last time I checked. It might be a better investment to put your money in a used gen

This was a huge thread a year and half or so ago. I believe Andrew, Josh and Paul offer solid gold presidential's. But I will tell you this they are uber pricey and know one has really been able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt they they are solid gold. So I say buy at your own risk. There are so many nice reps and gen for less than those pieces its not worth it IMO.

Quoting Narikaa here about solid gold daydates
Ive had a few of them thru my hands

I think you'll find that whilst they are solid gold they dont assay at a true 18K

But still a whole heap cheaper than a gen Razz

Biggest problem is shipping....at well over £1K........ R I S K Y

(All the ones Ive had have been to order & dealt in UK after personal 'importation' Wink )

I know that George has offered me solid 18K MBW's when I asked about one. (Not for me...my buddy wanted a solid gold Rolex.) We chose not to get it...I believe the price was $2400 for a solid 18K 1680. Please don't quote me on that...I'm trying to remember an e-mail from a year ago.

I know that there are solid 18K Day Date reps available on TRC, from a certain member. They have gen Day Date movements, and they can be iced out, as well. Those are pricey, as well. However...no where near the price of a new gen. Those were in the UK, I believe.

The best way...step in shit, and find a gen bracelet cheaply.

I had a solid gold day date a while back from a well known german dealer. Great watch. Wish I had never sold it but I ended up buying two vintage gens.

@Dawg. I saw Flavs pictures of his watches a week or so ago and they are real beauties. Old boy's got some skills.

If you're looking for solid gold, try vintage gens. A few years ago, I picked up a 14k solid gold 1930's Hamilton for under $500. Clean and lube for less than $100 and I have a killer dress watch.

Definitely MUCH less than I would have to pay for a new solid gold watch, gen or rep.

I have a rep solid 18k yellow gold Daytona that I have owned for about 5 years now. I paid $2500 for it because the gold is heavy. I bought it at a watch/jem show. I can't remember the guys name now, but he was in the US.

$4K, and the datefont is a tudor/ETA stock font...no thanks.

You're better off buying a nice rep from Ruby, then buying an aftermarket 18K band. You'll probably save a few grand, and the weight will still be very hefty.
