Hey guys,

I have searched here and RWG and TRC for the answer and all I came up with is clear finger nail polish. I am trying to find out what mediums you guys use for working with glowinc or readysetglo. If you could give me the brand name that would be even better. I apologize if this is covered somewhere else but I couldn't find :(

Thanks to all who can help. :)

Try your local hobby shop that has a good toy model section. I'm sure you can find some enamel there.

www.rctritec.com the real swiss superlume... the only one worth getting.

Thanks flavor flav. I know that this is the "real" stuff, but there have been plenty of tests now on the other options such as glowinc and readysetglo, that show they are just as good if not better in some cases.

Thank you for this info. But this is exactly what I was saying. What type of enamel? What brand? There are different types of enamel that are available. Are all of them as good as the other?

Please be exact as possible. :)

Noctilumina available on ebay.
It has better afterglow than tritec by 8 hours easily.
i charged it up last night to take my comparison shots,
when i opened the door of my work shop this morning it was still glowing versus the tritec that was already pretty much dark.

they also sell a binder for pigments 20 Ml bottle is very inexpensive.

How is the texture compared to SL?

texture is very similar just slightly larger particle size.

i had a lenthy email interaction with the maker of the product.

they are also releasing a ultra fine powder by the begining of june.

the base color compares to the Tritec natural in it's non emiting state.

and the price difference is WOW! you get way more for your money from noctilumina.

A comparison for your consideration

I would recomend a flat or satin clear enamel from the hobby shop.

the binders made for lume are slightly different, yet still have the similar basic properties.

the lume binders are also not inexpensive by any means.

I will check that out. I will also talk to Noctilumina about the cost of his binder. Are you using the Matte Finish from Noctilumina or standard ?

Thanks to all who have answered. I have some better knowledge now of the type of medium I should get. :)

Another question, how do you measure the amount of powder needed? Do you all use a micro scale or do you just eye it, till it gets the right consistency?

Just another lume topic:
Does anyone have any information on this stylograph?
I asked them about it. Their reply:

With the stylograph marking pen you will also need a dispenser and a
pump and the total cost will come to approx. CHF 2500.00. This equipment
is only suitable for luminising bigger series of watch hands and dials.
