buying straps from BAY area hard to do :(

I didnt think it was a big deal?

i walk into several watch stores (must be at least... 5) to buy leather straps/rubber straps for some of my watches. I dont have teh watch on hand nor do i want to bring 'em in - i'm lazy... since most of my 40mm watches have the same 20mm lugwidth.

Each one wanted me to bring the watch. I tell them I have ~ 20 watches... i'm just buying them for general purposes just to monkey with. Heck these are 6-10 dollar straps i'm looking at for crying out loud?

but NO. None of them wants to sell it to me. Each kept wanting me to bring in the watch in question. They said that way they'll know the size? I tell them "20mm, on a 40mm dia watch." but still ... NO.

arrrgh i guess i'll have to buy straps online. I was so surprised at how many places wanted me to bring in the watch and none would outright sell me a strap

am i missing something?

go to wal mart of a k-mart or a Fossil outlet store...tons of them ....cheap....sorry, no Mario Pachi's !!

That would be super annoying. Unfortunetly it is probably a product of them getting so many returns from people that buy without even knowing that there are different sizes. Everyone that walks in the door automatically doesn't know better to them now.

Fark them. Go to Fossil store or the big superstores like wally and Target. Several AD close to me know that I know waht I need so they do let me buy them but if I call some AD they say....you have to bring the watch in for sizing.
