I was in the market for a seadweller but now i realize they are very noticeable flaws about it and now decided to go a sub. I have come to a decision of either Rivers Sub (tw made) or Josh sub (CN made?). It would be great to get input from owners of either or both watches to help me in making my decision.

Rivers - http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b327/ ... Submarine/

Josh's - http://watchwindersworld.com/rlss10001- ... -1061.html

The prices diff is $70, josh's sub being cheaper.

Maybe Sash's Sub too?

Any input well be appreciated

Thank You

Gotta agree with smyrnasurfin. I have one from josh and Silix. The Silix sub has a much better finish on the case and bracelet. Plus Swiss for $115! :D

With shipping, it's $143, last quoted, still a great price. It's the same thing as josh's $188. both great dealers. River's also a excellent price $250 shipped. It's a TW Best. The rehaut, crystal, bezel are superior. Both have flaws. River's closer to gen after modding.

If you go with Silix he offers 3-5 day shipping for an extra cost, I think it cost me $28 last time, but was good for up to 2 watches at that price. I figured $14 per watch for shipping from china was a good deal. They arrived in 4 days.

And I gotta go with Coop. Very good deal and quick shipping. Just talked another work buddy into a Silix Sub, once he heard ETA for 115 he couldn't pass it up. You will be pleased.

yeah I like the bracelet allot on this sub. It will need a little bit of oil and cloth polish to break it in. :D
the case is built better then the "Andrew $188" subs too. but I might swap out the caseback on mine to see if I can get it to weigh more.

Right now it's total weight is 130.6 grams

How does the silix watch compare to sash best

115 sounds like a such a good deal hows the bracelet is smooth or a sharp on the edges?

I gotta get pics of the Silix one. I think the bracelet looks great, and yes it is alittle sticky. All in all really the best Sub in this price point. I actually ordered the Silix one for a buddy that has always wanted a Sub. It compares VERY well with my Ruby $200 Sub. I really can't tell any visual differences. Now I have another work buddy that saw both of ours and he has just ordered a Sub from Silix.

My Silix subs bracelet has smooth edges, as does the case. Very nice attn. to detail. You will need to oil the bracelet, mine was a little "squeaky" out of the box.

The rehaut on the Silix is a little on the conical side. Crystal sits pretty good. I live with the rehaut cause The finish looks so good on the rest of it.

if you're the kind who is picky about getting your sub rep close to the gen, you should get the River's. Silix's rehaut is overly conical like coop said. The crystal just doesn't have the sub look. The way the crystal is beveled is different from the gen's. River's (and MBW's) got that down very very close to the gen. And the thickness is not quite enough. Another little known flaw is the thickness of the rehaut. Silix's (and other non-TW or non-MBW) is simply too thin. Look at the gen. Start from the dial, move the eyes out to the rehaut. You see the vertical part of the rehaut and then you see the horizontal lip. The lip is what I'm talking about. Had the manufacturing made that lip that thick, rehaut wouldn't be so conical given the dial is actually of the right size (I measured it to be the same size as the TW Best's and the noobmariner's). I might be a little overboard but I bought so many sub reps and had wondered how come they don't have the feel until I got River's TW Best.

Be careful about how picky you are. I have fallen into that trap myself. I would find one one I liked, buy it, love it, and then be disappointed when I saw something else that may be better. You wind up with lots of watches, but you may not really love any of them. For some reason I only fall into this with the rollies, dont know why.I have other brands, but the rollies always call to me when I see them! Oh well, I guess you can never have to many, and one day I may just find the real "Perfect Sub". :D

I know what you mean. Rollies, esp subs, have that mystical power or curse. I do have a obsessive/compulsive behavior myself which I'm learning to deal with. Otherwise it's controlling me and my life. I've taken my 1st step which is buying a rollie gen (again). Anway, enjoy the hunt but don't let it go over your head.

Listen close to what bm is saying - I have to agree here - especially if (and you will) start to examine all the little subtleties. Josh's, sillix's, andrew's etc are all VERY good out of the box, but when you start modding them, you can't change things like rehuat and crystal height/shape. You will wish you started with a TW best - trust me!

If you are just going for one out of the box - any of the ones you mentioned will probably due.

Good Luck!
