I wonder that if a majority of the watches I see on people are actually reps. The other day I seen a Rolex President, a sub, and a GMT in the same day. I just said to them nice watch. But to my self I was asking could those be gens. Who knows.

Anybody have any opinions on that.

Of the last 5 rolexes I have seen people wearing, all of them have been reps.

I know this because two of them were very obvious submariner reps which in both cases were worn by people I met for business purposes, and the others (Daytona, GMT and DJ) were worn by people I knew well, and they told me they were reps. The DJ was a hard one to pick though.

My guess is that maybe a quarter to a third of rolexes you see are genuine. I think that this will depend on where you live, work and where you socialise.

A quarter is a very small amount.

I would say

more than half the Subs I see on men that are younger than 30 are most likely fakes.

Well b4 I started buying reps-i have a gen gmt master that i wore everyday. I can be in jeans, tshirt and sneakers, shorts or whatever-no matter what-i had that gmt on. I would get an occasional double stare on my wrist-they're probably thinking it was fake. I really didnt care-as long as i knew it is a gen-its allgood with me.

and

PANERAI...

because of their price point and more exclusive availability,

90% of most panerais i see are fakes.

I don't know why, but I can spot a rolex from a mile away. Its like a 6 sense  Every time I see one its like I just have to stare at it. And I know they know I'm staring.

If I know a person does not make a lot of dough, I always assume that Rolex's are likely fake, and give them a good look. Some people should not try to pull off a Rolex.

With Omegas and other watches in that price range, I think there are a higher percentage of gens. There are a lot of WIS that will save for years to buy a real Omega.

Most of the guys that are watch guys that I know have gens. Two guys are gen DD Rolex wearers. I wear a gen Datejust, my brother wears a gen OysterQuartz. My friend wears a gen Breitling. Two of my other buddies have two gen Panerais.

I've only run into one rep Daytona. He wasn't a watch guy. It was a gift from a girl. It was a TT Daytona, in which the "stopwatch" hand was really the second hand.

Many of the people I come into contact with wear gens. I think it's more my business, and the area. It's a pretty affluent area.
