Does anyone know which dealer might have this model with a quartz movement. Ruby has one advertised with the Asian 7750 28.8 movement, but after sending her three emails and waiting 6 days for a reply, she says hers has the 21600 movement, which is unappealing to me. I'm not too crazy about the A7750 28.8 either, so I thought I might try a Quartz movement (gasp from the WIS peanut gallery) for a change. Also if a dealer has this with the quartz movement, is the crystal sapphire and is the case and bracelet quality the same as the pieces from our other reputable dealers? Any help sourcing this piece and also any experience with the A7750 28.8 would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about this watch in particular....but in other cases I know that with different mvmt comes
different quality in casing, etc... I would imagine it would not have a sapphire crystal....like the asian mvmt pams...

I could live with a mineral crystal, but these asian chronographs don't have a very good track record as far as reliability. I may have to go for the basic Tag Link with the 2824 movement if I can't find the chrono with quartz. The non-chrono doesn't look nearly as cool and it's only 40mm instead of 42.

IIRC, WBK might have had one in his section recently that sold.

I doubt you will find one in this exact configuration with Quartz, as it would be a very flawed rep (aesthetics wise). The gens have the 10-2-6 subdials on the quartz.

the asian 7750, 28.8K bph seem to be fine...everyone of my chronos has this mvmt and haven't had
a problem yet. I would stay away from a watch that has the seconds subdial at 6:00, though...

DHK:

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the A7750 28,000. I'll probably just order it from one of our 5 star dealers. I've owned four Gen Tags in the past, but I'll probably appreciate this one even more.

I have this watch in the Blue Dial 28.8kbph 7750 version... (as I'm guessing about 35% of this forum also has)... mine has been bullet proof... much wear and tear and it still ticks along very very nicely...

the quartz version of this watch sportted incorrect sub-dial spacing if I recall correctly...

and as to the 21.6 vs. 28.8kbph 7750 movemnt question... i've crack open the case back on my particular watch (from Joshua) and it is indeed a 28.8k movement.

Only real downfall (and major tell for this model) is the crown itself.... (perhaps font on datewheel... mine is spot=on) The gen has an "outline" of the Tag logo where as many of the reps have a "full print" of the same logo.... I'm pretty sure that By-tor has shown this difference in pictures somewhere... I'm a bit too drunk to operate the SEARCH function safely at this time.

OiRogers:

I can live with the minor cosmetic issues, but I was most concerned about the reliability of the movement. No one will ever get close enough to examine the crown and I can live with the incorrect date font. As long as the movement holds up, I'll be happy. I doubt I'll ever use the chrono functions. I just like the way the watch looks and the 42mm case size. I wanted something different from my other watches, which are all three hand models. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Very nice watch with just few flaws: crown and pushers are wrong.
