Hello,
I am having trouble with my Internet explorer. It is doing some very odd things.Sometimes it will completely close the page i am visiting for no reason or it will be very slow loading pages and when i say slow i mean very very very slow for eg i tried to google something and after 10 minutes of the page trying to load i gave up.I thought that it was perhaps the topic i was searching so i tried putting in random things to see if that made any difference but it didn't.Another problem i had was when i was on a forum and clicked on a link and nothing happened i tried to open a new tab and that wouldn't work either and it would let me access any options that are in my tools menu.i had to restart my computer.Just to let you know i have high speed Internet connection. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me with this problem.

Do you have the same problems with Firefox?

You almost certainly have spyware on your PC. I would get a spyware checker, but it may be too late.

Sounds like spyware has taken over your PC , there are a few free spyware programs out there that aren't bad but won't catch the big bugs , those programs you'll have to pay for ..

Download Spybot Search & Destroy and run the program and delete all the bugs it finds , a couple other good free ones are AD-Aware-SE and AVG Spyware ..

If you want to pay for a good one that will find all the heavy duty stuff like Trojans and malware buy Spy Detector , it's worth every penny !

And quit using IE and switch over to Firefox !!!

Do you feel Firfox is that much better. I have it but always seem to gravitate back towards IE.

I only use IE when a page implicitly requires it. Firefox is streets better, with the extensions structure, following standards, etc.

Ya Firefox is way better but here is a problem that I had :
I don't go on porn sites , there is just way too many spyware on just one page , I clicked on a link in a forum and it brought me to a porn site while I was using Firefox , next thing I noticed that all these IE windows started popping up and I knew I was screwed , IE let all that stuff in and I thought I would have to format ..
So in order to fix it I was told to buy Spyware Detector as they use that program at my wife's work on like 5000 PC's ..
Well the neat part other than finding like 130 Trojans and all kind of junk was that I had a couple dll files missing and that on start up I would always get those annoying pop up windows telling me that a certain dll.exe. was missing , well after Spyware Detector fixed all my spyware it told me that I had some missing dlls and asked me if I wanted to download a patch to fix this , that sold me on it right there !
You can run the program here and it will show you what problems you have but it won't fix it unless you buy it , I wouldn't be promoting this if I didn't think it was worth the money , it's just a great program and has saved me from formatting !!

As for the IE windows popping up with spyware when I was using Firefox , easy fix to that , I blocked IE out in my firewall ...

Coo. I always wonder about computer techs that recommend anti-virus/spyware programs as a good tech doesn't need to get too familiar with them. :D

ps. I'm the computer tech here and I don't fix people's computers unless they pay me my going rate. It's too easy to get caught up in that whole trap that perpetuates the poor geek fixing someone else's girlfriend's computer because she smiles at him. It doesn't work on me and I therefore only accept cash. I hate any situation that makes me this jaded, heartless and sceptical.

Here in Holland we use http://www.hitmanpro.nl. This utility combined the most powerfull Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Software. Run it and your PC is clean and protected (during a trial period). Good Luck !

This shoud help you out.

I have been a tech for many years. Here are the things you should do to keep your computer clean from stuff like this.

1. Don't run IE
2. Don't visit porn sites. ever.
3. Don't open strange e-mail attachments. ever.
4. Don't run outlook, thunderbird is a wonderful mail client.
5. Get a firewall, either software (Zonealarm) or hardware (linksys router)
6. Don't use P2P software.
7. Don't use downloaded programs that have been cracked.
8. If you have a wireless network, secure it with encryption.

If you need to clean something off, or IE/Computer is very slow.
scan with xcleaner. http://www.xblock.com/trial.php

Then Virus scan with panda online.

Hope this helps everyone out.

IE's retarded active X component allows a nice way for Spyware to jump onboard easily without trouble - simple scripting.

Firefox doesnt ahve active x support, so no problema.

I'm assuming the new IE has no problems? i stopped using IE since the onset of firefox and have been spyware free since then.
