A week ago I tried to vintaged one marina militare dial

While during proses I checked several PM belong to other people. Especially. Enzo's work were uber-fantastic. So I decided to try (at least) with my dealer Nuri first vintaged Marina Militare project Watch.

After spent a lot of time looking around the forum, dared to do first part of our project:

1*Made the Vintaged Strap What is certain time ago were bought Germano NATO military natural tan 26/26 strap:I Soaked, brushed, patineted, made rulo to give some wrinkles ang vintage look.

2*Than vintaged the dial taken from Davidsen: by using tar and smoke.

3*Replaced the glass with Davidsen plexi glass and changed the hands from Davidsen

Than faced the biggest problem that it did not worked . It was over fo me and went to the horologist He worked a day on it did some modifications which costs was 50 Usd and ...........

Heyyo At the and It was working.

Second part of project will be:

1*Vintaged the case and maybe a little bit on the glass.

2*Also I am planning to give more vintage look to strap with ageing the corners maybe some scraches on it etc..

I AM OPEN ALL YOUR CRITICS AND OPINIONS.

(ESPECIALLY FROM ENZO AND OTHER MASTERS)

I would like to thank to NURI (MY DEALER AND FRIEND KUVARSIT) I APRECIATE HIS ENDLESS EFFORD AND.....

HERE IT IS ENJOY IT

Thats your first try at it? Bravo you would make Enzo proud. Like Maggio said distress the case and plexi and you got yourself a winner.

I think it would be a good idea to have modders "vintageize" your watch for a price. We have superlume, pin install, servicing, crystal replacement, etc, etc.... Maybe some people can start doing it....

Anyone up for it?

Any updates on this project? Wow the pictures are awesome. Where did you get the strap you used in this project? I'd love to give this a go and that strap seems perfect!

I second this - would love to see modders offering "vintagization" for a (reasonable!) price :D

I agree...that strap is great! The case could use a little Wabi though. The best method would be to take the watch apart and remove the crystal. Then, put the case in a box with coins (pennies, dimes, etc.). Shake the box for a few minutes, and you're done. I' actually had good results using this method on my vint PAM project. It gave the case a great used/abused look.
