Ok this has being going on long enough so I have to come out with it. I recently paid almost $400 for a serviced Navitimer rep from a very respected dealer on here. I ordered the version with the stick markers. About 2 weeks later I got the rep. First off it was the number version, not the stick version. Then I noticed a movement problem, (the second hand of the chronograph jumps around the 58s mark, according to ziggy should not happen if the watch was serviced), and finally the bezel is really loose, lifts a few mm off the case if i turn the watch upside down. I told my dealer the problems and he sent me an old model navitimer with 21k movement. Now this seems very generous, but in reality, it gives me an old dial and old non-serviced movement which is NOT what I paid for. Fair enough I get a case but this will cos me $40 to swap with the old one. It does nothing to address the movement problem.

I am a student and money is very tight, this purchase was a big deal for me. I do not expect perfection, but I really think this is a poor poor deal from a dealer that has prooven himself in the past to be one of the best.

I would appreciate your opinions.

welcome to the club!

About a month ago, I received a Navitimer from a trusted dealer with a loose bezel. I sent the watch back to get it replaced. Before the dealer sent me my new navitimer, I asked him to get it serviced (oil, lubed the works.) I paid the service fee and a few weeks later received my watch. I immedialtey noticed that the crown was crocked when I turned it. A few weeks later, I tried to set the date and the crown turned very loose and wouldn't turn the date. I can still set the time. I just can't set the date. I think the crown must be broke???? I followed all the instructions on how to set a chrono. I called a couple local watch stores and they told me, If the watch was truly serviced the watchsmith would have seen the crown--not aligned properly and fixed it. Is that true? I hope that is not the case. I would like to think the dealer would have truly serviced my watch, which I paid for?

this is from a post of mine last week?

sorry to hear of your watch issue my friend. I too have had some REALLY bad watch errors with completely different watches/styles being delivered. Usually the dealer will work with you and make it right. Unfortunately, you have to send it back and I would suggest global priority so you get a tracking number and it gets there in 2-3 days. Once they have it - ask for a complete new watch and they shoould get it out to you right away. (paid global priority twice myself and split it w the dealer once. its about $30usd)

I had to do this twice with 2 seperate watches....same thing, form a super duper board approved dealer. No one is perfect, but I think ALOT more drop shipping is going on then dealers say. Hope it all works out for you.

Hope you get your watch repaired/preplaced soon!

Cheers!

Damn, I thought these were the same complaint.

Can you confirm amongst yourselves that this is the same dealer?

I have emailed the dealer once more to see if he will make it right. I have offered to but another watch to offset the loss he will make fixing mine. If I do not receive an answer by the morning I will let you know who he is. He is usually a great dealer so I hope it can be sorted.

I hope all works out.

@Blizzard I wouldn't let that scare you away. I've had several issues with the watches I bought but everyone of them has been settled between myself and the dealer. I usually handle my problems by getting the watch fixed locally and the dealer usually gives me a credit on the next watch. I have a really great watchsmith here in Chicago (Thank Repliking) and the guy is very reasonable so its never been an issue. Just to let you know of the 17 watches I have purchased this year 8 of which are mine I've a total of 3 glitches none of which has cost me more than 50.00usd. Go ahead and do the math I'm way ahead of the game.

Tag non-chrono will be just fine! Dont worry. Just to put this to bed, the dealer has offered me a generous solution. He will pick up the bill for me to send the watch to ziggy to fix it up.

I too have fallen victim to the dreaded faulty watch. My brand new chronoswiss after wearing for only 2 hours, the seconds hand falls off. I dis- assemble the watch, and using a microscope attempt to re secure the hands. Not only do i scratch all the beautiful blue paint chronoswiss is known for off the seconds hand, but i inadvertenly bent the hour hands what the f*** Luckily i purhased from one of our trusty dealers who is shipping a replacement. Things happen!

Simple solution

Do NOT buy reps.
Reduce the risk.

Got lots o' money?
Buy a gen.

Dont have much money?
Leave your ego at home and buy a Timex.

The dealer sorted it a so now I will have a nice Breitling rep that Im happy with. Saying not to buy reps is not a very helpful comment to leave here on a replica forum.

I to was in shock when I bought my first rep. It was a Pam and it had a imperfection in the crystal. I contacted dealer who quickly sent me a new case and crystal. I have come to learn we are in a rep game and these things may happen. Once I realized that everything has been fine.

The obvious answer for the dealers is to personally inspect every watch they ship out. Go thru all the functions like you would when buying a watch from a shop, but over the course of time.

At least the really silly errors like loose hands/bezels, faulty chronos/calendars, badly constructed bracelets etc. shouldn't get thru the net.

I too have had many problems with being sent faulty watches aswell as watches which were not the ones advertised! Its all to disappointing when you've waited eagerly for days/weeks and in my most recent case over 1 month! :x

Its not too much to ask is it?
