Amaazing!!! This will be my next project. What did you mean by adding a spacer??

The spacer ring is used to center the movement into the case. I used the one that came with the donor V72C Wakmann watch. I had to machine the outside diameter of the ring to match the cartel case. Since the movement came with this spacer ring it matches the movement perfectly and provides a secure anchor for the movement.

The Gen 6264 doesn't need a spacer ring:

Holy mother of God. I saw this project at its start, but somehow missed the meat of it. Unbelievable. How in the world did you acquire the skill set necessary for such an undertaking?

You have my eternal respect, but mate, I gotta ask… after all that hard work and attention to detail, why did you leave the cartel bezel and insert as is? Why not spring for a higher quality aftermarket insert to finish it off proper? Sure you'd have to machine down the lip the cartel bezel rests on, but I'd hazard a guess you could do that in your sleep!

Either way though, this thread should be getting more attention than it has. Truly masterful work.
