Hi peeps...

as far as possible.. i'll do my research instead of posting but.. i don't seem to gather what i wanted hence gonna trouble your to assist..

Question 1)
as i research.. i find a lot of noob v2...
was told by TD that V7.5 is the best but not much info here...
the price diff is huge hence i need to justify the price since a lot of them said that v2 is very gen-like made..
according to TD, V7.5 has sapphire pearl and platinum silver marking...
so, does it mean that V2 has the wrong pearl, wrong silver marking?

Question 2)
cannot expect rep to be the same as Gen But, if i were to put V2 OR V7.5 (assuming 1 of them is the best made) beside a Gen, is it easily identified or it is so Gen-Made to the extend which it's hard to figure it out?
*i understand that the metal strap isn't accurate as per Gen hence i'm comparing just the casing and look :)

Question 3)
I'm fine with both D-blue and Black face (sea dweller), but which face is more Gen-Like?
(heard that the D-Blue gradient is still off... but if it is slight off, i guess it is easy to explain to people...)

Thanks in advance for contribution...:)

1) OK the Latest model DSSD out right now is the 2015 model Noob, it is also referred to as the V7/V2, or the 7.5......so bascially you are both talking about the same one.

2) that depends on who is looking at them. All the reps have tells. If you have it sitting side by side, you are going to see a difference.

3) The deep blue dials....gen is gloss rep is flat
The black dials.....gen is satin, rep is gloss

Thanks for the reply buddy!

V2 @ $278
http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=deepsea&product_id=1371

v7.5 @ $408
http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=deepsea&product_id=849

dealer told me that the pearl on v7.5 is sapphire.. same as Gen...
but many have been raving about v2...

i can accept the price of $408 but was just curious.. will the pearl b a major different (pardon me cause i never seen the v2's pearl before)
if V2 is at boutique grade also, i would definitely love to save the money and buy V2 and spend the rest on another watch... hahaaa :))

Those 2 watches you pictured are identical except for one thing, the 408 version has silver paint on the bezel markers

The 278 version is actually the 2014 model it is not the V2
the 408 version is the 2015 model it is the v2

It has exactly the same pearl and everything
the only diffy is the silver paint

thanks...
then seem like Toro gave me wrong infos?
i seen the picture and checked with toro... "v2" ($278) which i was told has a more translucent pearl whereas v7.5 ($408) is a white solid pearl..

for just the silver paint... seem like i should go for $278 instead.... safe bet.. right?

I am mistaken and apologize...that 278 version is NOT the noob model, it is the BP version, so yes the 408 version would be the way to go IMO

Sorry for misleading you, but it goes to show how close these different versions really are

Ok this is the 278 version, above, the one on top is a BP,
the one on the bottom is the Noob V7 V1

So im not sure what exactly he is selling at that price point, and now i see how i made the mistake,

Look at the shape of the triangle.....the BP is straight across the top
The Noob has a slight curve to it.....

Hes got 2 different watches pictured there

I've been following the dssd deep blue since they came out. I think there was another thread somewhere that said both are noobs but they made a cheaper version of the watch for some reason with poorer overall quality. I would stick with the more expensive version.

issue is... now im so lost which is which...
wat i been reading was, V2 is pretty much gen-like (so i assume the pearl is also the same) but toro told me that v7.5 has sapphire pearl, not V2...
the price different is pretty huge...

I was in the same boat. I bought this one:
http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_134&product_id=1047

When I was doing my research I came to the conclusion that it was the best available DSSD rep. The D-Blue dial is completely wrong for the GEN. The rep black dial is more gloss than Satin as on the GEN.

The insert markers aren't 100% aligned properly, the clasps can sometimes come apart but the TD will send a new one if you provide photos and ask nicely. The hands and dial markers colours can be different sometimes.

All in, I would get the $408 again. It's such a great watch, nice weight, correct markings and features, good movement. I liked mine so much I am planning to build it into a franken watch (part gen, part rep) I've done a small review and comparison here:
