Youtubers hating on the rep community?

Sorry had to start this thread after I found the fourth video within two weeks uploaded about why not to get replicas and these videos were from "gen only youtubers" such as archieluxury, the urban gentry, and I wanted to know is the hate always like this? or is the rep community growing so much that gen wearers are feeling threatened that their 8 to 15000 dollar timepiece is showing up on more wrists than they would like? Just funny how you start getting into a hobby and all of a sudden you notice things you never noticed before, and I only write about this because of the fact i found many videos uploaded within the past couple weeks that were from people i've followed for a while. Point is why knock the guy who wants to drive a bentley on a chevy cavalier budget? :greedy: I understand the possible criminal enterprises some websites found on google search might be affiliated with or scammers just taking your money and run if you don't belong to a forum like with with TDs. Maybe I read too much into it but sounds like some replicas are being noticed more than usual.

Good Post, welcome to the forum. I own both gen and rep, and frankly I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing rep watches and being proud of it. I have a watchmaker who is an AD to several large brands, and he wholly embraces good reps. Why spend the money on a name when you can get the same quality for less? He was very surprised with some of my Omega reps and said he would never have called it out.

People who knock them without knowing why we're really in this hobby come off to me as people who use watches as a status symbol. I just have a greater love for watches than my current budget can support.

f%$^ me dead haha well it does say that the RWI community is known. But I agree with DreadPirateRobert I love watches more than my wallet will allow. Maybe it's time to also start an Invicta collection.

You are right about that, I can get a headache and leave feeling as if I have lost IQ points after reading some of the comments people leave on videos. :hypnotized:

The reps most people have in mind are the terrible canal street ones. It's a whole different story once they see a good rep. They might not admit it at first, but there is a great chance they'll be looking into them later. Just my 2 cents. Oh, Archie is not entertaining or funny, he's just annoying.
