Hello guys, my AP diver v7 goes like 10sek to fast each day, is it something i can do to adjust this, ive read that someone you can turn the crown. Or is it just some specific models you can do it on?

There is a small screw on the movement with + / - markings to adjust. Honestly i didnt tried it but this is the way to do it... Maybe some experienced members can Jump in or you try the search function for more Details...

You can adjust your 2824 movement at screw 1 or for lever 2. But what ever you do, don't touch lever 3

But it's not for everyone. First you need a real good screwdriver to open your case back, than you need a small screwdriver for the antimagnetic case and than you need a timegrapher (app) for the adjustment

Plus 10 seconds a day is ok for a grubby Chineese movement, a gen Rokex can be up to +6 a day and still conform to specification;

You can turn back the adjuster a bit, and it is pretty simple, but do you want to risk it?

I've regulated plenty of watches and it is quite satisfying, but ultimately pointless as I only wear them for a week at a time.

Buy more watches, that way it doesn't matter if they're inaccurate as you'll wear them less!

If 10 secs a day bothers you, you need to stick to quartz watches.

There's no way I'd bother trying to regulate a low quality Chinese 21J movement any closer if it were running that well unless somebody just wanted to pay me a bunch of money. 10 seconds a day is actually pretty good for one of these. I have gotten them to run closer, but it's a crapshoot due to the quality of the parts they're made of. I've been doing watch repair for 25 years now, but I'm new to the rep game. The 21J movements aren't much, but hey, they're better than the Swiss pinlevers of the 70's and better than even "good" Swiss movements of 75 years ago for the most part.

My rep is like 8-9sec a day. Can't complain. For a rep auto Chinese movement. I think it's pretty good to be honest. like ~1min/week. No biggie :)

Fun to hear this confirmed. I have had some 21j that perform really well. Like you said, it is a crap-shoot.
I wonder if it is assembled by hand or machine? There must be some kind of explanation as to why some can run +/- 1sec and others all over the place. They seem to be rather durable as well… amazing considering how inexpensive they are, in the neighborhood of $9 a pop. Gotta luv it!

They're assembled by hand I'm sure, with machine made parts. I don't know of a robot yet that can assemble watch movements, although you never know at the rate that technology advances at these days. Why some are better than others is just plain dumb luck. One will get all good parts, one will get some good parts, and one will get NO good parts...lol. If their initial quality control on the manufacturing process was better they'd give the Swiss a run for their money. However, the Chinese way is to do it as cheaply as possible. They will reward employees who figure out how to save them a few cents per unit and to hell with the quality. It's the mentality of their industrial base.

I'm surprised that my gen Tudor BBB loses about 1 second a week, while my wife's gen Rolex loses about 1 second a day.

Amazing really.
These little batboys are still done by hand! Then the price is just a few dollars. wow. Top it off with that the damn thing actually works well…
My most accurate movement is a 21j chinese rep piece by far. I own several nice gens from the big boys and it is not even close. Granted, I haven't had them regulated in a while, but still! An $8 21j vs a 3185 or a top 7750 and come out on top??? Gotta luv it!

Actually the most ETA movements assembled by robots, even the p.9000 movement from Panerai is assembled by robots. Just the balance is assembled by hand.

If you take a rep to a watch specialist, are they likely to be reluctant to work on it?
