Hello guys, my AP diver v7 goes like 10sek to fast each day, is it something i can do to adjust this, ive read that someone you can turn the crown. Or is it just some specific models you can do it on?
Fun to hear this confirmed. I have had some 21j that perform really well. Like you said, it is a crap-shoot....I've been doing watch repair for 25 years now, but I'm new to the rep game. The 21J movements aren't much, but hey, they're better than the Swiss pinlevers of the 70's and better than even "good" Swiss movements of 75 years ago for the most part.

I wonder if it is assembled by hand or machine? There must be some kind of explanation as to why some can run +/- 1sec and others all over the place. They seem to be rather durable as well… amazing considering how inexpensive they are, in the neighborhood of $9 a pop. Gotta luv it!
They're assembled by hand I'm sure, with machine made parts. I don't know of a robot yet that can assemble watch movements, although you never know at the rate that technology advances at these days. Why some are better than others is just plain dumb luck. One will get all good parts, one will get some good parts, and one will get NO good parts...lol. If their initial quality control on the manufacturing process was better they'd give the Swiss a run for their money. However, the Chinese way is to do it as cheaply as possible. They will reward employees who figure out how to save them a few cents per unit and to hell with the quality. It's the mentality of their industrial base.
Actually the most ETA movements assembled by robots, even the p.9000 movement from Panerai is assembled by robots. Just the balance is assembled by hand.
