Thick crystal is such a turn off
Does the crystal look thicker than the gen to you?

Also, this is how the early cases were made. Agree that if they have started making them like this again it will be a big improvement. I just hope we don't have some old pictures here.

Anyone know which factory this is from?
I think it is a new version as some of the detailing is different to previous versions.

It's a new version. I have it. The dial is improved (check the well known flaw in 3 that is over now). But crystal is exactly same thick as before. This is how it should be.

Thanks for that. Just to understand, your picture is of the new rep or of the gen showing the crystal thickness?

What do you mean by the known flaw on the 3? IWC changed the shape too.

Here is an old (tatty) gen dial I have. The 3 is like the early reps. Note also the 4.

Other things were different on the earlier reps too, like the crown marking. Still correct, just old.

It looks like the rep makers are finally catching up with the gen changes.

Also, on the new rep did you take off the caseback and see the screws holding the bezel? That would be a big step like the OP said. I can remove the bezel on reps but there is always the danger of damaging the case which then needs a lot of work to fix and in the gold plated versions it is sometimes not possible to eliminate any damage.

Is the AR any better on this version? And do most of the TD can source it?

Hoping for the ardoise model! And a reliable movement (the latter is quite unlikely though :-(

The only new info I have from two separate TDs is that the ardoise version is also available as updated version with the curved '4'. I'd really really love to get this watch but - yes, you knew it - the movement still is a real turn-off!QUOTE=Mirage;2555799]Anybody has further update on this new 3714?[/QUOTE]

Isn't the gen movement available separately? A franken of this will always be a keeper.

I'm about to pull the trigger on this one but can't find the it with golden numerals. On PT it's only with the blue ones.
