Hopefully someone can help me out. My grandmother gave me this some years ago but unfortunately didn't really tell me anything about it. A Google search leads me to believe it could be a German (nazi?) military watch. But it looks way too new to be so old. It has a mechanical hand wind movement. Any ideas?

Put it in a black plastic bag, smash the shit out of it with a hammer then throw it in the trash.

CONUS
Postwar? not WWII German.
Tank looks more like an American M41 Walker Bulldog (though has extra wheel) than a Panzer.
SS Bolts are not German - they would be blunt at the tips.
Is it made in China? LOL.

Yeah I figured the bolts didn't look quite right.

Not to mention, that i havent seen very many nazi watches without a swastika or their eagle on it.

And the more i think about it we might need to run this thread past the Mods, because i remember some one had made a nazi replica watch and was told to remove it.

Nope, nothing on the case back.

I apologise if this watch offended anyone. Regardless, I guess we're pretty sure this is not a nazi era watch

The movement is a Russian Molnija 3602 and from there I suppose it´s easy to tip on some Russian made watch. There are a few +- similar on ebay (just scroll down)
http://www.ebay.ie/sch/Jewellery-Watches-/281/i.html?redirect=mobile&_nkw=russian+clocks
The movement is often used for budget vintage Panerai builds.
As the Molnija is widely used and the configuration with running seconds at 9 is a nice one, I´d look for another dial (lumed pilotwatch-or B-Uhr-style, any vintage or simply PAM, maybe from Jacksontse) and hands for replacement and would keep all the rest: strap, caseset, crown, plexi exactly as is.

Not genuine, if it were it would be worth a fortune.
Pull the dial, cut said dial into small pieces and burn. Find new dial for the watch or salvage the MVT for a PAM build.

How much do you suppose it's worth? It's not quite my style, so I think I'd rather pass it along to someone who could use it for a build.
