Lug bar problem on a U-Boat U-51 Chimera

Dear RWIs


This is close friend's watch (he bought it from me about 4 months ago)


The lug bar has two "screws" (one on each side) that go into the lug bar (you have to screw them from the outside of the lug bar) and keep it tight...


well....he lost one "screw" and now you can't put a strap on it..

any ideas how he might fix it?

The only thing I can think of there is to see if you can source a new lug bar screw set from Toro. I think that is the only way to get that end cap screw (and then once you have it, loctite with thread locker).

Only way to find out is to ask. Send him an e-mail, he has sourced parts for me before on products I've ordered from him.

Convert to springbars . Measure it and get one from eBay. Looks like a seiko one might fit it well.

I asked Toro if he could help me (he played a major role in the making of the watch) and he will send me a new pair of bars

Has enyone used something with success. I was looking at panatime's fat bar 20 mm as a possible solution. I would like to hear from anyone that used an alternative. I believe the one supplied with the rep is not of the highest quality and they fail very easily. Even if anyone has managed to soure OE lug bars i would appresiate your input on where to source
